Mods move my post here what a final post. EDIT: Took Care Of It!
Terrible news that @tacotaskforce informed me Sega Gigo 1 is closing end of August. The website informs me the land contract was up for renewal and they decided to not. Same story as Warehouse Kawasaki 5 years ago. This is Gigo with the retro floor with Police 911, Outrun 1/2, Sega Rally, Prop Cycle, House of the Dead 1-2-3-4, Virtual On, VOOT, Golgo Sniper, Pac Man with absolutely fucked horizontal only joy-nub. A lot of things Iāll never play again. Just like last year gotta get out to Akiba twice in August to play games. God last time Iām ever gonna play Police 911-2! If thatās broken Iāll probably collapse in tears on the spot. Or that weird armadillo game with @contentdeleted ! Screwed up Sega Rally with @Persona ! Maybe a 3rd SB Encounter there that I am forgetting? Or a 4th?
Fake Edit: the completely fucked Typing Of the Dead machine from the Kabukicho Square arcade that @boojiboy7 loves to remember.
I was sad Natsuge closed the first time in 2019. I was eccstatic when they reopened through Mikado in a previous Takadanobabaās Arcade location. They are like the one place to play pinball in Kanto. Or would have been by July 31st. They always had a lot of unique cabs you just donāt and havenāt seen. They keep 1pm to 10pm hours so my chance to seem it before the end of the month is much lower. They say the machines will be distributed between Mikadoās two locations. Damn shame either way. I got to play the baseball pinball machine my family had growing up and hearing those beautiful Goltilieb Pings (maybe the best sounds on Earth) made me cry.
Outside of FAR CHIBA I think the last 3 Real Arcades in Kanto are HEY, Mikado Baba/Ike, and Amusement Center and the last one might be all UFO Catchers now. Damned to see the end. Lucky to see it at all.
The most beautiful disgusting machine I could ever imagine. Keyboards that somehow worked pretty well, but were coated in a thick layer of grunge, sweat, and salaryman.
Original Natsuge will always live in my brain as being the first place I played Viper Phase One, sitting on a subwoofer hooked up to the game, which remains my mental āhow God intendedā for that game.
E3 2013. Iām going around interviewing developers for my Gamefront job. Iām recording their responses in a notebook. The Unknown Worlds PR guy lets slip they are abandoning Natural Selection 2 because itās not selling well in favor of Subnautica. I dutifully write it up. They contact my boss demanding a retraction because they ādidnāt say thatā (they did). Because i wrote it in my notebook instead of taking an audio recording on the busy floor of E3, my boss pulls the article (but still pays me for it, at least). They are the only company in the whole show that pulls this shit on me, all because they had loose lips.
Within the year they abandon NS2. So they demanded a retraction for a factually correct article entirely because it made them (accurately) look bad.
Fuck the Unknown Worlds guys. Unscrupulous jerks even before their Hollywood ambition.
Weirdly, it is being replaced by a Silk Hat arcade. Starting to think Akihabara is conspiring to put one of each Bemani Pro League-licensed arcade chain in the area.
ā¦so why not just use exFAT if you need to and ignore any of the limitations imposed by FAT32 (which, for all intents and purposes in Switch 2 dev, is the 4GB file limit)
(probably the exFAT stuff is related to the SD Express support, since technically SDXC mandates exFAT as the file system)
I donāt know if anyone has ever noticed but I refuse to use Roman numerals for videogame sequels because they arenāt serious enough to deserve them. Of course that makes putting it in the thread title even better.
