Cave Story 2 is released. It’s not very good.
Grand Theft Auto VI trailer is shown in November for release in 2019. The main voice actor is an Al Pacino impersonator, the secondary characters are all voiced by Ray Liotta but played backwards like in Twin Peaks
La Mulana 2 is released. It’s very good but everyone hates it for some reason.
A popular mod for Sausage Roll that turns the sausage into Sonic the Hedgehog is shut down by Nintendo’s legal department (they acquire Sega in March)
The Dreamcast v2.0 is announced as an add on for the Nintendo Switch. It’s a VMU containing a chao minigame. 800 units are produced, and they only work if you have the limited edition Omachao amiibo.
Xbox 360 emulation is finally perfected and becomes self aware. However, it is incredibly embarrassed by the Bomberman reboot released early in its life and it deletes all of its own code permanently
VR Technology becomes accessible when Viewmaster becomes the new standard. By December, everyone lives inside of their own personalized fetish zone sponsored by 60 Minutes and McDonald’s.
