Actually I also think about this:
I’d rather have friendslop than another hero shooter tbh, at least one feels like a positive social experience rather than something trying to take over your life so you keep buying cosmetics
Can someone give me an example of friendslop this term is new to me
not hero shooters
for the first few moments puzzled moi was thinking “why does that Tomodachi game deserve this hate, thought this was good?” before realizing — welcome to boomertown, moi! ![]()
shit streamers play in groups
Games my furry friends get really into for for a Couple months a few times a year that seem way way way less evil than big multiplayer games with infinite loop treadmills but for some reason are bad (?) to parts of the internet.
“friendslop” is where the -slop suffix trend officially wore out my patience
like eww imagine silly video games you play with your FRIENDS?!?
everyone loved suppermariobroth as the comically serious deliverer of obscure mario facts. and they love him even more on the special occasions when he’s a little silly!
i think streamerbait is a better term than friendslop, not least because i can’t imagine wanting to play most of them without being paid for it
streamerbait isn’t necessarily friendslop because friendslop is inherently multiplayer whereas streamerbait can be singleplayer. thankfully we have a really accessible and understandable example of bait in Getting Over It, which pretty much offers the product as such in its thesis statement
anyway, they’re all video games. play what you enjoy and don’t waste your life thinking about stuff you hate.
I just think most of those games aren’t that interesting to me personally so I don’t play them. I do not want to have to say the word friendslop to anyone ever
I saw some funny videos of the rv game once though
I meant TVs rather than PC monitors. When the Xbox 360 came out it was basically impossible to play on an SDTV.
Wrong. Thinking about what you hate at least 60% of the time is the secret to happiness and long life
Anyway I prefer the term “friendfarmers" and yes they are bad games, but they are not evil games, if you and your friends wanna pay 10 bucks apiece for 6 hours of fun god bless. Just leave me out of it.
Friendfarmers/Friendslop remind in quality and quantity of the kind of super-designed couch co-op experience you would first get to play at something like PAX 13 years ago. Lots of hits n misses, but shit these are way better ways to spend time with people compared to shit like Jackbox imo
it’s true. i remember the headache that was attempting to play bioshock on a period correct television set
