why not
This may be one of the most specific questions I’ve ever asked in this topic, but has anyone here played the Wii version of Dead Space: Extraction and if so… is it non-gamer friendly? I know it is basically a light gun game at heart and somewhat scary, and I got a non-gaming acquaintance who still has put some quarters in arcade light gun games in the past and likes spooky stuff, but I’ve got no real read on if (especially with 2 players) they can get by just pointing a Wiimote and shooting stuff or if it’ll end up asking them to do things beyond that/what they’d be willing/capable to do.
I think there are some waggly puzzle moments. I can’t remember exactly but that sounds right. I think non-gamers could easily get through it, especially if someone more versed in games is playing with them.
An alternative would be like Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles, there’s nothing complex about that one.
It’s more complex because there’s some branching paths, weapon switching etc. You’ll have to make use of the stasis/gravity gun things. There’s a few parts where you control the camera.
There’s audio logs, a light version of the weapon upgrade system. Very 2009.
But maybe it’s a decent game to try to bridge the gap between the pure arcade experience and other things.
is there a Hottest Most Unbelievable Graphics thread cos i got a vid of a buddy’s game that i wanna drop on yall but idk if the best images thread is the right place
I would do it here, personally:
yeah ur prolly right, cheers
Why is the Gamers store in akihabara called that when they’re mostly known for selling anime and manga
who do you think buys anime and manga, pal
you say that as a joke, but it’s still so weird to me that english-speaking anime fandom and people really into videogames aren’t the same thing anymore. when i was growing up, it was just natural that if you loved videogames, you watched anime, and vice versa
Anime’s different now than in, say, the 80’s, isn’t it? And I suppose videogames have changed too.
Is there a modern steam link? How do I get a steam link?
it’s just an app now
There’s the extremely overpriced Nvidia Shield. Supposedly it’s best in class at this, but almost definitely not worth the money.
I had a raspberry pi 4 lying around, so I put the free and open source application Moonlight on it. That worked really well, and I can also use the pi for Pi-hole network-wide ad blocking and for emulating games on. Apparently you can even straight up run the Steam Link’s software on a pi officially, but I read that Moonlight is better.
I’m not sure how easy to get a pi is in Japan right now but they’re generally really cheap when they’re available.
It’s in some smart TV app stores too.
I use Moonlight and Steam Link on an Apple TV without a hitch and I’ve used it on a “Chromecast with Google TV” with decent results as well. The Chromecast is $49 but doesn’t support ethernet out of the box — you can get this power adapter with ethernet adapter or try wiring the host PC if you have congestion.
Moonlight has the slight performance edge but needs an Nvidia GPU and some people prefer Steam Link’s UI.
I’ve had a lot of success using moonlight. if you combine it with zerotier you can stream your games from p much anywhere with good stable internet. I’ve been staying in austin and playing games off my PC in louisiana using my phone and a backbone. the connection isn’t quite stable enough for super twitchy action games but it’s been great rpgs and such.
Welp was already leaning towards an apple TV!
Hold on does an Apple TV allow audio out of a PS4 or Xbox controller?
