But it still gets there faster than Suikoden IV does. It has that unfortunate Mass Effect Andromeda energy of “The team liked the old game, so they made one of those games.”

Very disappointed that the franchise had already established so many guidelines for gathering the 108 stars of destiny that they couldn’t force the Prince’s body double to die in the castle ambush, like he really should have.

war theme games like title ‘twilight’, like Twilight Struggle, Twilight: 2000, Colonial Twilight…

but it’s hard to see the word in other place like newspaper, why?

it’s kind of a dramatic and fanciful word i guess?

In addition to sounding dramatic and poetic, the word twilight is also sometimes used when talking about the fall of an empire or civilization. “The twilight of the Roman empire” kind of phrasing. I’m sure I’ve seen that turn of phrase before. You know, when the sun really is setting on the Roman empire.

Does anyone have an opinion on Cocoto Fishing Master? I’m having a very hard time with it but it’s very charming, wondering if I’m misunderstanding a mechanic or something

are judgement / lost judgement any good

impression I’ve got is like a marginal mechanical improvement on the last several mainline yakuza games in exchange for not really being half as charming

Haven’t played Lost Judgement yet but w/r/t Judgement Agree with @Rudie’s take that it’s extremely slow to get started even within normal Yakuza standards but once it gets rolling it’s one of the better Yakuza games.

The caveat here is that IMO not having Kiryu’s extreme deadpan sincerity lightening things up a bit, the slow parts are a bit harder to stomach. But that might just be a me thing and ymmv.

Judgement’s about when they made the dragon engine tolerable but its still a mediocre spinoff, lost judgment’s better but like yakuza they expect you to remember a lot about the previous games and all the flashbacks dont cut it

i think judgment is better than like half the yakuzas probably. it has a few nice hooks. playing the games in release order it was a kick to see kamurocho upgraded yet again into 2018 4K Big Game Graphics, and honestly i think the novelty of looking at the space through drone cam and flying around was worth the price of admission itself, though maybe if you’ve played Y7 already that doesn’t mean as much

that said i played it like six months ago and, those couple big hooks aside, fuck if i remember even a few things about the story
