Also Konami apparently is selling a home version of the Dance Dance Revolution software with the exact same pricing model as the arcade version (~1$ per play). I’m not sure what’s going on with that exactly

I think when Rock Band was a more popular thing there were several companies doing “bar grade” rock band controllers that could take daily punishment and were very rugged. i assume anyone serious about RB would probably procure one.

At some point they stopped having stems be mandatory for dlc actually

Judging by this Reddit post ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Rockband/comments/rw1gn5/list_of_stems/ ) it mutes the whole song, but some are still getting stems, so it’s hit or miss.

Thinking about what could have been but also i’m like “yeah IDK about using the Source engine to make this”
Was certainly one of those people obsessed with Valve and the 3rd Half Life game. Partially just to see where the grand narrative all went, but also excited at what the “best of the best” could do given unlimited resources. Well i guess the answer to that was actually “Titanfall 2”. I’m not sure if any game is going to have that affect on me or get me that excited.

i guess valve ending up canceling the conclusion to the most popular “traditional” video game of its time because they wanted to fire all the developers and replace them with payment transaction engineers or whatever was kind of the canary in the coal mine, wasn’t it
