The Synthesis Pot seems to have alleviated what I find most stressful about item management in roguelikes. I love the explosive nut dumpsters with an xp multiplier, it’s a great incentive to carry trash and be on the lookout early on.
I just knocked a billiard ram into an npc and was surprised that they could become hostile, good stuff

do you know the trick to tick tock clock? i’m asking because it was one of the most wonderful surprises to discover as a kid but i also guess most everyone knows it by now, but if you are the rare person who does not i don’t want to spoil it for you

Ah, the ram making an NPC hostile is a cool interaction – hadn’t seen that yet! Game is full of subtle stuff like that where certain behavior is normally fine except in some freak occurrence when it’s not.

A toad tells you, but I was going for a couple stars where you need to have things moving. Bad camera was always forcing an isometric viewpoint, plus the jittery controls. Anyway I did it, I got 120 stars for the first time ever

God help me, I’m playing Apex Legends again. Some IRL friends were looking for something free to play. I’m not going to lie, I actually think this game is low key extremely good. I even dropped 10 bucks to unlock a character. She has the most annoying “I fucking love science” redditbait persona ever, but she can basically spawn jump pads every 10 seconds, and that is just good old fashioned fun. Being the only character who can do it means you can throw jump pads at enemies and get them extremely confused, or throw one into a doorway so anyone who tries to go through it gets stuck to the ceiling instead. Love it.

I thought Apex Legends was fab and the big strike against it was how bland the characters were
Like that incel who huffs his own farts is in the running for worst game character ever, which makes him better than the rest of the cast cuz at least he’s super shitty rather than indistinguishable from every other shooter hero of the last x years

Octane also throws jump pads, and at a pretty rapid clip. get a gold helmet and he has his pad every 30 seconds or so. also you can double jump off of them. Horizon’s whirlwind lets you float up in the air for a while though if you know how to control it and that’s pretty badass
yes I still play this damn game pretty regularly. I really like the latest map

I play Apex almost every weekend with a friend. It’s a good game! They are pretty bad at making any of their characters uh likable though!

Hello, I’ve been addicted to Apex for the past two weeks or so. I really like how you play in teams of three. I have a group of friends that rotate through the game so it always feels fresh to play with a different make up of people. One of my friends has a habit of wandering very far away from the rest of us. Another plays as Leeroy Jenkins.
I think I’m alone in that I kind of like the character designs. I mean, for avatars that you can’t really see for the most part, they have pleasant colors and ~vibes~. Crypto with this “Hypebeast” costume is so gaudy that I must have it:
Maybe I’m okay with the characters because they are as annoying as I am. Love to repeat exactly what each character says right after they say it.

just seconding the position that apex is fantastic!
now that i have a computer that runs the game well, i’ve been playing a handful of matches pretty much every day for a while now. i also like many of the designs, specially some of the legendary skins for characters* and weapons. i also like the banner thingy, it’s cute. maybe there could be distance-related issues, but i wouldn’t mind trying to play w people here anytime . . .
*that is, except for bloodhound; their cool skins are never available to purchase or craft

I got drawn in by the train so I’ve played upwards of 40 games of Apex this week? Olympus is such a great map, it might be my favorite FPS map design ever. A lot of the systems changes and refinements that have taken place in the year since I last played it are fantastic, and I’ve been having a hell of a good time
