On further reflection, Iâll be OK with them depicting a liberal capitalist America in this game if they use it as a canny commentary on the way socialist revolutions tend to be co-opted by moderates, as happened in Portugalâs Carnation Revolution. But theyâre not gonna do that, lol.

theyâre Swedish, I donât think the power fantasy as written was ever going to be impeccable from the perspective of current American critique just because they started with an easy villain

Worst case scenario is theyâre the kind of liberals who are comfortable with socialists kicking the shit out of fascists, but under no circumstances could ever countenance those socialists ruling or creating their own kind of society once the fascists are vanquished. They can only imagine a return to liberal capitalism.
See the outcome of the Carnation Revolution in Portugal for a salient real world example of this phenomenon.

This is charitable but I got the sense that Jess, Soph, and Abby are fed up with the previous generation of compromising revolutionaries-cum-bureaucrats. Still sucks to have Grace of all people be that character. Wyatt would make perfect sense because he was supposed to go to DC and be a âstatesman.â

I think itâs perfectly reasonable for a time-wipe, post-revolutionary story to be about the curdled fire of the heroes, about the next generation not earning a deserved break but being required to act for their rights.
I donât view clumsy social media posts as indicative of the thrust of the game and in general this rush to take any pre-release media strategy as indicative of the value of a product is exhausting especially with how little control the people making the thing (the real thing of value) have.

lol my biggest problem with wolf 2 is that it was all mealy-mouthed liberal bullshit so its really cool to see theyre just doubling down on that in the sequel i guess
