i feel that dude i could HEAR the quit sound reading that tweet
people seem hesitant about them bringing kiryu back to Like a Dragon but Iâm 100% onboard, I relate to kiryu more than ever since I too obtained a family and then abandoned them
the sound test screen from space harrier ii. the screen itself is like the sound tests from a bunch of early first party mega drive games, with the song names listed in two columns in the gameâs standard font, but the weird evocative titles and the sparse futuristic sound of the songs themselves really stood out to me and cought my imagination as a kid
i woke up with the Stage 1 music from the NES Little Nemo game playing in my head in spite of not having listened to it or played that game in years
not sure what this means
this tune in particular is embedded in my childhood memories as deeply as anything else. that little delay between the two notes ~:22 is like, the first pleasurable friction i remember from a song breaking my expectations.
anyway seems like a good omen to me tbh
there is something about this tune. it is very wistful and innocent but also sorta melancholy and understated in a way that a lot of other NES music doesnât manage to be. the fact that the root note of the bass in the first section of the melody basically doesnât change probably contributes a lot to that.
also the forest level this is in is weirdly kinda dark and spooky, which you wouldnât normally expect for a first level of a game like this
Sometimes I think about the general plot of the comic Little Nemo, of a âprincessâ spiriting away this small boy to a magical land of wonder where everything constantly scares the living daylights out of him, and she keeps showing successively scary things to him without really understanding what the problem is. It honestly feels depressing in a way that Iâm pretty sure McKay didnât really acknowledge or feel like exploring (given how it was essentially just a frame to draw something wacky each week).
honestly my main thought after the song RE: little nemo is the character who has become in my mind âfemboy clownâ
who it turns out is probably based on the âCandy Kidâ from the comics

Thinking about how I went to all the trouble of walking across the other side of my house to get the case of armo(u)red core V to read the manual only to find itâs six pages long and doesnât tell you anything interesting.
The loading screen for Armored Core 3 (the only one I have) makes me feel like Iâm at a Radisson Inn off the highway next to the airport about to sit through a timeshare presentation
The bureaucratic tedium of death dealing
Greatest Hits Final Fantasy Anthology is somehow the cheapest double-box PSX game you can still buy sealed.
I wonder if they were reprinting it? They kept a lot of old PSX games in print for years after the PSX wasnât a thing anymore
You can still grab FF Origins on their store today for this reason
yeah, i got chrono cross brand new only a couple years ago for like ÂŁ10-ish
Yeah, I assume it had a massive reprint at one point and yeah, I also noticed a lot of sealed FF Origins copies. Iâve just been looking for 2-disc PSX jewel cases to replace several of mine and noticed that, while trying to see if there were any really shitty 2-disc PSX games I could get sealed for the price of a Jimmy Whiteâs Cue Ball 2 to harvest the case from, that FF Anthology was like, the most abundant and cheapest 2-disc PSX game sealed on eBay right now.
that sneaky portanentoâd descending synth arpeggio that rises up behind ââŚto crui~se the wo~rldâ
absolute perfection
I do love it
