hey, if you have Sonic Generations on PC, someone straight up ported every daytime level of Sonic Unleashed to it and made some adaptations (improvements imo) where needed (for instance, no QTE sections!)
A long, long time ago, I posted in an Okage: Shadow King group about how some of the characters names were changed slightly, and that Ari was Luca and Rosalyn was Rosalie, and of course, because it’s the internet there always has to be somebody who comes along that doesn’t know shit but acts like they know shit and was like, “Actually, it could be Ruka”, and I’m like, sure, in this game where all of the characters have Western names, this kid is definitely called “Ruka” and not the more obvious “Luca”.
Anyway, apparently they released some action figures for the game coinciding with the North American release of the game and:
Can someone explain to me how this is a good game or even a good thing to subject your eyes to? My gaming sin is to never have liked a Sonic game except 2 but also I was a child and I might hate Sonic 2 now.
i like how this guy who has a channel entirely talking about the minutiae of speedrunning old games spent the first few minutes of his video about Donkey Kong talking about how early 80’s arcade games have little to no merit (unlike the later 80’s games he likes which are timeless) and then intone that they’re only played by pathetic older men who are not “normal” people and are blinded by nostalgia for it:
i find it cool to look at, until it gradually begins to register how stapled together all the motion is. i remember the jump in these games feeling like sonic was magnetised and held at an invisible point above the ground before being ejected back down again, with virtually no arc
The stapling is… good? I feel like the moments sonic goes from full stop to full speed are the worst moments. There’s very little buildup or anticipation.
on the surface, resident evil 4 is about a man trying to save the president’s daughter from mutant terrorists, but underneath, it’s the journey of a man trying to rescue his jacket.
if my jacket was Taken i’d destroy the world to find it.
If you let my jacket go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
I watch thr Game Grumps (Warning men yelling at children’s games) play the bad sonic games and have a good time with it.
Their playthroughs of Black Knight and Heroes are epic journeys. A hero is defeated by the bad game over and over again. You sit their slack jawed because they are complete idiots but also the game is unforgiving and unforgivable.
Then you get to Sonic Boom and that is some real shit.
