This incredibly cursed Super Street Fighter IV AE control panel
firing hadokens off a Simon
there should be a version of street fighter made for controllers each with a matrix of 6 of these 3-button clusters, with each cluster corresponding to the typical lp mp hp lk mk hk functions but with each of the individual buttons triggering micro-variants of their properties.

In Arx Fatalis, the player’s quest to defeat the evil wizard requires that they obtain an artifact which has historically belonged to whoever is the ruling King in that world. Sounds like a generic fantasy item, like the ring that is passed from ruler to ruler and there’s nothing special about it except a bunch of royal hands have touched it and it’s become ritual. But this artifact has a true power to it.
Before there were human kings, and before everyone fled underground, there were huge wars of wizards blasting insanely powerful spells at each other. At this time there were many factions, a lot of division, and it sounds like wars were waged over both right to govern and because the vanity of wizards is endless. Eventually, this spurred a magical arms race that saw the conflicts growing more and more violent due to huge spells. The stability of human civilization was constantly under threat.
Years into this disastrous epoch, a new spell was discovered (or created?) that ushered a paradigm shift in the way magical wars would be waged thereon. Yes, wizard war had changed. It was a slow spell! Anyone who was struck by it was helpless to draw their runes, defend themselves from oncoming attacks and were sure to be killed by their opponent. Thus, the meta was altered and wizards read the patch notes for sure. Wizard wars were less destructive, the battles were briefer, always decided in an instant: whoever would be able to cast the slow spell first would win. Terrible people gained much power during this time, wizards with no honor ruled.
Until the era of Kings was commenced by the creation of this one weird artifact. Anyone who wielded it was immune to slow spells. Power from there on out was not about big spells, but about who possessed the rock, and thus the right to rule as King.
It’s just lucky that Poxsellis, who was the first King, was also a good one.
I un-blood-potioned this and re-blood-potioned this because i liked your edit about patch notes
thank you! I couldn’t stand to leave out that important detail
okay so there’s a song in va-11 hall-a called karmotrine dream that sounds exactly like shoot em up movies
its pretty obvious the composer likes this song right? well, i found an ocremix thread where he posted about the soundtrack and someone pointed this out, and his response was “ive never heard that song before but its great, this is actually an smt tribute track.” well, okay, but it seems totally crazy that hes never heard this song before…
except he has! this track from nocturne is also shoot em up movies. anyway, im glad everyone loves this song
what gets me is TWO songs in the game are shootemup movies
i need to figure out what those other songs are cuz there’s a bunch in valhalla that sounds like other stuff
loving shoot em up movies is a curse you hear it everywhere
frame data in fighting games is equivalent to the concept of sente in the ancient game go
transitively, using an invincible reversal when you have frame disadvantage is the equivalent to tenuki
that read like some youtube lore video about a anarchy map in Minecraft.
a tale as old as time, and every bit as true!

please tell me about this
