I have come to the conclusion that no, art is not art, because bad art exists.
art isn’t something you enjoy, it’s just something you convince yourself is meaningful in a way you don’t understand because someone better at feigning intelligence than you says so
People will know art when they see it, ergo art is pornography
But is it porn? Are games porn?
Yes, games are porn and porn is art.
i think about how i want there to be a way to make all of the colossi in shadow of the colossus just start coming after you. it’d probably create so much slowdown, even in the ps4 version (there’s a ps4 version, right?), but that’d be rad as shit to be pursued by all of them. running around the world trying to avoid getting killed by them all while trying to figure out how to start taking them down.
even if it is not true can you tell me that those are battery packs that it is plugged into?
This samples Yello’s Oh Yeah and I think Super Metroid???
If I remember correctly the GPU used a separate power supply so you need to use 2 wall sockets if you want to use the thing, lol. That brick should be the 2 PSUs in a plastic cage.
i think about how much i’d rather video game characters just be named after colors rather than having goofy names. i love color coding characters/giving them names that are just colors or that evoke colors. i’m sure this has to do with my childhood consisting of ninja turtles, power rangers, having a last name with a color in it, and going to a kindergarten where kids sat at a different colored elephant table (I sat at orange elephant – my favorite color (as an adult)).
When I don’t identify enough with the protagonist to name them after myself (or i really dislike them), or I can’t fit “Darling” or “Pudding”, then I just fall back to naming them after colors.
I often try to think of names that evoke colors for characters and stuff in the game I’m (mostly thinking about) making.
Reservoir Dogs is probably the only Quentin Tarantino movie I really like, and I wonder how much of that has to do with the fact that the characters are just named after colors.
what do you think of the ken nordine album colors
crimson is SICK
sick in its RED
no telling what crimson might do
if the notion should start in its HEAD
also love the story of green trying to oust yellow and blue threatening green that blue and yellow could make their own green so green better shape up.
The ending of Space Quest 2. It’s derived from the ending of Alien where the protagonist escapes in a shuttle craft, jets off in a random direction, and then enters a cryogenic sleep capsule, hoping to be picked up at some point thousands of years later.
The creepy thing about it is that there’s no transition to a separate ending screen, it just stays on this forever

This would have driven me insane. JRPG postgame content has scarred me to the extent that whenever i finish a game i just leave it on the THE END screen as long as it takes to see if anything else happens next
The MGS series had good form for bookending the credit roll with mysterious codec conversations that were both revelatory and perfect sequel bait
