i often think about the name of the town in parasite eve 2, which i often mistake as “dirtfield”, and am always amused until i eventually at some point recall it’s “dryfield” or something, which doesn’t amuse me as much. i guess calling a place “dirtfield” would really be setting a town up for success.

Doctor Doom Jazz is my favorite subgenre of music.

heres two videogame things i just learned that im going to be thinking about a lot from now on

first is that when you perform a visceral attack, use a blood vial, etc in Bloodborne, anything where your character appears to dematerialize their weapon back into hammerspace, the game actually just shrinks your weapon down to tiny size for the length of the animation

During the betrothal ceremony, Anri’s helmet is set aside and their face is covered with a cloth. How, in this moment, did the developers decide to obscure Anri’s actual head? Did they model the cloth to fit over it? Or maybe model mask the head to be invisible? Nope, tiny head.

tiny head/big body/fucked up dimensions modes were the best thing about sports games back in The Day. i think all games, regardless of genre, if they use 3d models, should have a way to fuck with the proportions of the characters for a good time.

I turned on big head mode in House of the Dead 2 on the dreamcast without knowing how I did it, and it was the most exciting thing

where the hell are all the -modes at in 2020, come on!!
