i still think about the ratchet & clank games far too much. other than some views which are so stunning they honestly make my heart leap into my throat (such as pictured), there’s a certain openness and breeziness to the geometry and the way the spaces flow that has embedded itself deep in my memory, and i frequently get dreams about moving (gliding) through such spaces, something which usually only happens for games i’m currently playing

Been watching a lot of “person trolls a terrible GTA5/Gmod RP server” videos which feature people who RP as cops full time, including a guy who is the admin and prison warden of a GTA 5 server. People sent to prison have to interact with a set number of prompts (which make them do a cleaning or mopping animation) before they can get out. So this guy gets off his job and then supervises people pressing buttons in a fake prison on a modded GTA5 server as a hobby, for several hours a week. It seems like these people want the power that comes with being a police officer while also going through ritualistic “police procedure” under the guise of roleplaying to make it seem more legitimate. When an interloper comes along they are banned because the paper thin virtual existence the server’s RPers have created is predicated on everyone never breaking character, despite the fact that the interloper’s incursion is the most interesting thing that’s happened on the server in months.

I have 2 say it sounds like a win if these people are picking roleplaying as a way to exercise some sort of psychological desire for petty power over others as opposed to the easy alternative of becoming a cop irl.

Yeah, this is why gmod rp has long been a nightmare of shit too. It’s funny garry just found out about the nazi ww2 rp servers beause theres literally like PLANTATION ROLEPLAY and stuff too and all of it is based around being able to subjugate other people for “roleplay” reasons. I guess it’s finally gotten so bad that he has to stop pretending like the literal SS concentration camp RP servers don’t exist.
When I was like 11 i played on a stalker shadow of chernobyl RP gmod server and the first thing that happened is me and my friend were enslaved by two random heavily armed guys who made us drink bleach for fun. Normal.
