So I made a separate RPCS3 folder using the last known good-for-VT4-World-Tour version of the emulator. Since that’s the only game I’m running from that exe, I made a little taskbar icon for it customized to uh Federer’s big head. ^ _^
that little subgenre of ps1-exclusive fighting games that weren’t arcade ports.
a lot of them were anime tie-ins, a couple were even tie-ins to other videogames. but the most interesting of them are ones that are just their own thing, and they just have this one game (and maybe a sequel or two in time) to get you interested in a bunch of characters and their world. there’s little pockets of friends around the world who had their own isolated mini-fandoms for like evil zone, toshinden 4, lightning legend: daigo no daibouken and more.
they all had their favourite characters for these games they played at each other’s houses and no-one else talked about. and now most of those games are completely forgotten.
completionist would mean grinding every class to lv 99 multiple times to get extra skill points so you can max out every skill on all your characters, an absolutely bugnuts thing to do even if you want to fight the hidden superbosses
742 hours = ~30 days ftr. though of course you would be giving away that month over about 2 years assuming you’re playing at least an hour a day
imagine how many other dragon quest games you could beat in that time. like better ones lol
i have a playthrough in me someday where i use a save editor to give 1 character proficiency in every weapon and the ability that lets you change jobs on the fly and solo the game. maybe actually check out some of the DLC shit. could see that being fun but im never doing even the normal grind of DQ9 again lol
The part in SMTIV where a guy asks if you’ll ‘off’ a demon for him and you have to say “Yes, I will ‘off’ the demon for you” and then if you go into the question description it says “You are required to ‘off’ the demon (this means kill btw)”
