Has anyone actually modded a car into Dark Souls as the player character? Where’s the world of mods that put the Daytona USA car into games like in Fighters Megamix??
I said Demons Souls. Demons Souls.
Incredibly brave of you to say this, anothergod
Lol has this been said before? Or is there no differentiation between Demons and Dark? I am pretty dense sorry
they’re just giving you a hard time by pretending not to understand the nuances of what you said, the joke is on the character of “poor listener” that they are affecting
This is the best explanation of the shitposting I was doing I’ve ever read. And sorry anothergod, I was just making a joke at your expense about the “X is the Dark Souls of Y” that was all the rage a decade ago (cry, I can’t believe it’s been that long already)
I think what you were saying is true, there is a mechanical/design purity between games like Demon Souls and Gran Turismo. Games of a specific subgenre that are just pure distillations of their genre but still somewhat generally accessible unlike equally hardcore subgenre games like dungeon crawlers or shmups.
Another game that’s similar to the prior games is Outrun 2006 and how it encapsulates the fantasy of driving into a small thrilling replayable digest. Unlike GT, which is the thrill of collecting and driving and admiring every real world car, Outrun is just the experience of being a skilled driver on a beautiful cruise across the US with a beautiful lady and clear blue skies or extremely starry nights while listening to classic or remixed Sega music. A totally different vibe and result despite being about the same genre of “cars” and “racing”
no longer can i call him sakagucci ![]()

learning mortal kombat lore

johnny cage possessing “green Mediterranean magic” is something that sounds like it’s from felix’s giuliani game
anyway posting itt bc david cage naming himself after johnny cage actually is a videogame thing i think about a lot
and luke begat nick, and nick begat johnny, and johnny begat david
omg I never knew this
It’s like how Jenova Chen named himself after FF7. How many more videogame creators name themselves after videogames? There must be a handful out there, right?
Looking at every Mario in the industry with deep suspicion
There are a lot of standardized video game terms I hate, but none more than the combination of their design assumptions and ubiquity of usage as Tank/Healer/DPS. Just the mouthfeel on DPS alone. They don’t have the decency to even have the same style of word (no we were never going to use “Scraper” get real.)
I have always found the term “sweepin’ the d(ee)ps” a little amusing, though
