Sometimes I think about how slow the HP bars move in Diamond/Pearl and think “why did they let this ship, no really, why”

I didn’t play hockey games, so for the longest time I would think about how, in hockey games that let you kill players, it was still just a time penalty for doing that. Theoretically, if you kept killing players, eventually you could win the season because there’s not enough players left to field a team against you.

Thinking about how Toby Fox deciding to stick with Game Maker for the entirety of Deltarune development has somehow managed to hold up as a development decision

lol

Wonder if any of the exporting tools they developed can be licensed out/reintegrated back into Game Maker or if it’s too piecemeal specific to his workflow

it is probably is a total nightmare to deal with. maybe the Undertale money allowed them to hire a few engineers to sort it out. Most, if not all, game engines are total nightmares to deal with.

The Prisoner would be such a good setting for a videogame. Specifically IOI doing it, what with Hitman and the 007 game being pretty close technically to what The Prisoner is. I think the only other developer to pull it off would be Blendo after all the systems they built in Skin Deep. If only I had an immersive sim sandbox game engine plus several million dollars to hire some people

Ps4 Mad Max

Sandland. Sandland was definitely one of those last gasp of a dead species.

ps4 mad max had maybe the best vehicular combat. they should have made a sequel that was just that

I may go back and try to finish Mad Max on PS4. Agreed that the vehicular combat was all timer stuff. But the hand to hand combat sucked so much! I hated it!!! and you had to do so much of it!

Other than the car wars, the other thing I like about Mad Max that I never see anyone talk about is the legitimately weird dreamlike prophecy uttered in some of the game’s cutscenes. Sands of Time vibes. Better writing than one could have any expectation of.
