That the guy who won Invincible VS At Evo Saudi yesterday discovered a tech that no-one else had beforehand, used it to gain the upper hand, had done this before to win Nen Impact AND BBTAG while changing his name every tournament to add more confusion. He’s also the best Merkava player in UNIB on the side.
Frontier Developments has clarified that its upcoming Kinect release, Kinectimals, does not share any technology with Lionhead’s own title Milo & Kate.
The misunderstanding stemmed from a quote we ran from an interview with VP of Microsoft Game Studios, Phil Spencer, in which he said that ideas from Lionhead’s child sim went into Kinectimals. Not so, says Frontier’s Chairman, David Braben.
“I’d like to address some stories that are currently circulating, that Kinectimals from Frontier is somehow related to Milo and Kate from Lionhead,” he told us in an email.
“Kinectimals has been in development since before we saw Milo. It is built using Frontier’s own technology shared with other Frontier games in development, and ideas evolved from earlier games like “Dog’s Life”. There has not been any involvement in the technology or design by Lionhead. Milo and Kate is a completely separate (and intriguing) development from Lionhead.”
The original article this is in response to is great because Phil Spencer is specifically addressing questions about why Project Milo wasn’t shown at E3 2010, to which he gives wishy-washy answers about how Lionhead “inspired” other studios so he can pivot back to discussing a game that actually exists.
I think about the Call of Duty Ghosts Giant Airboat way too often for a thing that is not acknowledge in the plot of the game in which we have super secret legendary operatives everyone knows about saving us from the hoard behind the 30 foot tall Mexican Border Wall. But mostly the giant airboat.
I think about how there’s an fmv cutscene that narrates the funerary rites of the Ghosts; an organization that’s about a decade old, has between 1 or 2 dozen members, and has had only a single member die at the start of the game. They couldn’t find the body, so they didn’t give him the rite.
wow, “save that shit for nationals” era never ended
How I was one of the best Mario’s Makers of all times and never got any credit for it

Just found out the Japanese versions of Dog Days are uncensored without any of the pixel blocks.
In thousand cuts they have clothes on.
Guess I have to play this version and be really nitpicky about the subs!!

I’d win it.
I just thought about Oooga Booga for Dreamcast.
Sony emailed me and I thought about the PS3 store shutting down in a year if Sony actually has the guts this time and how I should pull all the stuff I might be vaguely interested in some day off it and rip all the remaining PS3 discs I have (not many I don’t think) and run through the store again to make sure there isn’t anything else I need but then I realized that would take a while and take up storage space and be depressing and if I really want to play those games I’d almost certainly already have them and have them ripped/dumped already so I’m just going to take one last spin through the fairly tiny US PS1 Classics listings and then finally pack the thing up and put it in the cupboard on top of the Saturn or in the closet if it won’t fit on top of the Saturn and I’d kind of like to sell it and be done with it but I won’t be able to make myself do that because what if two years from now I come across some other PS3 disc game I want.
Fungah! Foiled again!
thanks Ted
thinking abt the image that steam docs use as a positive example of how to describe a videogame (circle emphasis theirs)
“RAIDBORN”… there’s a whole world out there i didn’t know anything about. how do you look at the first person fantasy games that already exist and decide their problem is that they’re too imaginative and distinct… why does the cover art look like it’s pitching to guys who’d like to play evony but are afraid it’ll just be too headily erotic. thank you to whatever member of the valve nephewocracy decided to immortalise this one.
How River City Girls and The World Ends with You share enough elements that the third games of both series could just be a single game (titled The World Ends with the River City Girls, natch).
i think more than i should about the mod to make the nahobino from smtv a lady and all they did was give the existing model big bazongas
This anecdote about a guy bumping into Yoot Saito and him wanting to talk about video games while Mr Seaman only wanted to talk about the UK gay scene.
