Gotta hold…right, I think? Only way to get past that iirc is to avoid one side

PSO vol. 1 & 2 (GCN) has local 4-player split screen! the DC version doesn’t have that

this was a sequel and was a different game entirely

But it has Offspring/Bad Religion/Real branding and good analogue controller support.

Oh! You were talking about the PS2 port being inferior. 100% agree!

This is the best version because of that. 4 player couch co-op PSO is magical!

Ikaruga is supposed to be better on Dreamcast too. I read online. I bet the same goes for 18 Wheeler and Ferrari F335 and all those other arcade ports. Tokyo Bus Guide? Bass Fishing? Virtua Tennis 2? All those Atomiswave ports that are now playable on Dreamcast? Maybe those are best played there? Do I just want to justify my recent purchase of a GDEMUed Dreamcast plus fishing controller? Maybe. Dolphin Blue rocks though.

this is the pso that i grew up with because i couldnt play online at all but really wanted a game to play co-op with my friends on my gamecube!!! i remember waiting for it to come out and being upset when i went to the store when i thought it was coming out and finding out it was delayed!!! and then when we did finally get it me and my friends ran into the first area all excited and got wiped out in the first room because the monsters are stronger based on the number of people!!! i wished that you could do the story quests with your friends though i think i remember having to play through it single player to unlock areas for everyone???

A patch that fixes up RPGOne’s DQ1+2 SNES translation. One appeared recently on ROMhacking, but it has a goofy cracktro splash screen. There’s a bug where the flute doesn’t work on the golem, but you can still kill it if you try.

Patches a Japanese DQIV ROM with the English script (from the NDS release, no change) + the party chat script from the Android release.

Starfire is an action RPG for PC-9800, initially designed by Winston Douglas Wood (of Phantasie fame) and developed by StarCraft Inc. as a successor to Star Command. The game underwent major changes during the development and eventually became a more straightforward dungeon/space shooter RPG running on the Might & Magic 3 engine.

In this game, you are a member of a mercenary squad of infantry mechs contracted by the > government to do dirty jobs. Eventually you gain access to a space ship and travel the galaxy to deal with an alien invasion.

The project started in 2020 when the original designer (Winston Douglas Wood of Phantasie fame) admitted during the Matt Chat interview that he never played Phantasie IV and Starfire when they came out in Japan.

The final version of the Bahamut Lagoon translation was also released earlier this month.

Nearly complete beta translation of Aerobiz ‘96, PlayStation version. Lots of untested formatting and not fully tested for stability, but everything should be in English except for the button graphics, which at this time, the patch author is unable to decipher the formats of. Help in finishing the testing, or especially with figuring out and redoing the untranslated graphics, would be appreciated!

If you need your Air Management fix, there’s this beta patch for Air Management '96.

I feel like I had heard of this previously but can’t find any mention of it in the thread so…
The GBA version of Shin Megami Tensei has been translated into English (or more accurately they took the officially translated script from the 32-bit bound iOS version and put it in here):

This is probably the best way to play this game in English now unless you actually do still have a working 32-bit iOS device available? It adds some more CONTENT like extra story cutscenes and a few new demons but most importantly the game’s UI has been updated to the much improved one used in SMT2 (featuring such improvements as being able to see the stats of equipment BEFORE you actually buy it).

This all comes at the cost of being, you know, a GBA port. The backgrounds have more variety now from the PS1 version but the contrast is still all blown out like most GBA ports. Most notable will probably be the music downgrade though (the iOS port while mostly being the GBA version used the PS1 soundtrack). It’s the usual GBA grime but it also being based on the PS1 version does mean it has some minor positives like the boss music taking longer then 20 seconds to loop.
