The Official "Is Something Broken?" Thread

oh very well then

Confirming no more grey text for read threads now for me on desktops and I hate it.

The new five files at a time limit is really cramping my style

Easy fix - bumped to 20, hope that works.

it sounds like this is fixable thanks to @OneSecondBefore correctly realizing it’s just a CSS change and not a change to the way the software tracks read behaviour (as well as the rest of us who browse the site differently being made to understand what was wrong) so this should be fixed relatively soon

Yaaay thanks

Paging @Brooks, @Rudie, @RT-55J, @Mikey, @username, @VastleCania @scratchmonkey, and anyone else affected by that bug where fully-read thread titles refused to turn grey:

Today Doolittle deputized me with admin powers so I could work on this, and I just fixed it!

To sum up a long investigation, Discourse recently changed their css classes for the topic list, causing some of our custom javascript to malfunction, resulting in the thread title colors breaking. I’ve replaced the outdated css classes in our code with the new ones, and it’s now working fine. Try refreshing your browser tab and you should see it working again.

Is there some kind of minimum for quote reply to work?

sorry this post tripped my troubleshooting brain so since the minimum characters for quote-replying seems to be 1, and the minimum distance between posts seems to be 0, i have two questions:

  1. what do you mean by minimum?
  2. what do you mean by work?

this will help me troubleshooting brain calm down even though i probably won’t be able to answer the questions

Huh. Now it is working fine. Kept trying to quote stuff in GYPT and it wasn’t working.

Does that persist after a refresh?

I’ll check upstream about quoting on iOS, it’s always been a little at odds with the OS highlighting.

Is refresh closing the tab, hitting “f5”, or restarting safari in this case?

I meant hitting the button in the address bar, but if it persists after a new tab that’s odd

To be clear, asking about the title being too large in your screenshot, not the quote functionality

i also got this briefly, but it doesn’t seem to have persisted past closing and reopening the browser

seems like some classic CSS shenanigans but it’s weird that it’s so spotty to reproduce

the bookmark button on my own posts has moved too but this might be unrelated:
