But where’s Skate?
Lizardcube. Same people who made the rather excellent Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake and Guard Crush Games were the ones who made that XBLIG game with the Mortal Kombat style digitised sprites called Streets Of Fury (Which was supposedly rather decent).
they made the dragon’s trap remake a couple of years back
There has to be a way to do hi-res 2D that isn’t just gross 3D rendering and isn’t, well, that
Love to go to TheDragonStrap.com
i am already really upset about how SoR4 looks lol
i mean, if it doesn’t have music by Yuzo Koshiro, is there even a point? at the very least, i hope the trailer music isn’t indicative of the vibe they’re going for, because YEESH
i don’t know. i feel like if it were me (which, duh, it ain’t), and tapping into Koshiro wasn’t possible due to cost or whatever, i’d be hitting up DJs in the underground scenes of places like Berlin, Tokyo, and NYC. in fact, i can 100% guarantee you with all certainty that some of these people know and love SoR and would totally do it.
this team earned a crack at it but I’m not quite sure about the exact decisions they made, no
If cost is the issue well I guess I’m glad Koshiro is well-off enough to be choosy
they also made blaze way too cheeseball, come on, she never looked like that
Shin Megami Tensei V producer Kazuyuki Yamai shared a development update on the upcoming RPG in a new magazine interview.
Here are the tidbits:
“We’re working hard on it. Yes, it really is in development. (Laughs.)”
“Mostly everything, from existing demons to new characters, is currently running on the hardware.”
“We’re making a game with content appropriate for a numbered title and without any compromises.”
“We’ll share an update when time is ripe, so please wait a little longer.”
“We’re constantly considering a port or remake of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. We’re thinking we want to watch for an opportunity.”
From Owlboy guy, Simon S. Andersen, a what-if visual mockup of a CT sequel.
the best ever
give him ten million and five years it is the only just option
o my gosh
I heard around here Owlboy wasn’t very good though?
iirc it was more that it was like, a very linear, straightforward, gentle, obsessively perfected GBA-style narrative platformer ten years late for that trend that didn’t have too much of its own to say. it was a very particular kind of videogame labour of love which was by no means bad but isn’t necessarily any more than the sum of its parts
really the best thing that could happen to the people who are able to churn those out on their own would be being hired by nintendo or square I guess
I could see them doing fangame sequels.
Of b-tier 16-bit games. Yeah, something soft and squishy like Crusader of Centy (I wouldn’t trust them next to something Actually Good like Chrono Trigger).
One of you might be able to fund the next SB Meetup is all I’m saying
YAWL
this is looking immensely likable, I just hope the systems are really complex and the game (optionally) pretty hard
WHERE’S
THE FUCKING
KANGAROO
