Have you written about this anywhere?
Yeah, earlier in this thread, but I’d be down to make a thread for Watchin’ the Watchmen if you’re interested in talking about it.
“Earth-666”. Ok, now there was a cameo I wasn’t expecting
From a perspective of difficulty to actually produce and the scope of the eras/networks they’re pulling from, Crisis is literally actually “The Most Ambitious Crossover Event In History” it’s very silly
Ep 1 of Crisis is my first exposure to Brainy aka Brainiac 5 and I adore him.
I’ve had a lingering curiosity in the back of my mind about what Pennyworth could POSSIBLY be about, so I loaded up the final episode of the season, and watch the last half.
In it, Alfred fucks the queen of England, so driven to lust is she by his heroic exploits for king and country.
He then kills his father, who then detonates an IED, causing Alfred to dive onto his love interest to save her. There’s then a shot of him walking out of the front door of the building, flames consuming everything, with Girl in his arms.
It for certain was picked up for season 2.
This Alfred is like, Batman Alfred?
Yes
Even in TAS Alfred had worked for MI6
While I have a certain fondness for retired Man of Action Alfred, beyond the 60’s TV Alfred best Alfred is the one from that one issue of whatever Batbook that had alternate Batmen who was a former theater troupe member. In order to prevent Bruce’s deluded vigilante shenanigans from getting him killed fighting actual crime, he got the old theater gang together to play a bunch of villains so Bruce could fight “crime” in a controlled environment with Alfred himself as the Joker.
My best Alfred is Norman from the Big O

This was from “Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?” and yeah, that part was pretty good.
holy shit Green Lantern?!
i mean they did reveal that his dad’s last name was stewart he just didn’t take it. now i wonder if he’s gonna show up on superman/supergirl or if lynne stewart from black lightning will be his sister suddenly
also i can’t believe they implied that the failed sitcom powerless exists in this universe with the big “van wayne enterprises” sign
it is still very funny that arrow, a show that started off trying to ape the grittiness of nolan batman movies ended with oliver as a ghost wizard rebooting the universe to create a magic anti crime bubble that lasted for 20 years
I think it’s for the best I stopped watching sometime around season 3

I mean I haven’t seen Dark Knight Rises since initial release but I think that’s how it worked
Wow they actually did it? After all these years? Was it cool? But how do you adapt “Green Arrow and Green Lantern” when they’re apparently doing Arrow and the Canaries?
A spaceship crashed and he opened up a box with a green glowing light. That’s it. There’s no actual indication that Diggle’s Green Lantern character will actually be on anything else. He moved to Metropolis at the end so it’s possible he’ll pop up on Supergirl/Superman
I want to give a huge shout out to my local cw station for not preempting my beloved Legends for dipshit Mussolini’s sotu
Of course, I still have Bell Biv DeVoe in my head but that’s ok I guess
