I think the non mario kart bundle exists 1) to make you feel good about buying the mario kart bundle, wow what a deal, and 2) because there isn’t always going to be a mario kart bundle, they want most of their mario kart sales to be at that $80 price

When I saw the opening shots of the desert mesas in the Mario Kart World trailer I was like “oh my god, another Dillon’s Dead Heat Breakers game?”
So what I’m hearing is the only way I’m getting officially updated versions of F-Zero GX and Wind Waker is with a Nintendo Online subscription.

Hopefully will be able to pick up a cheap Switch once this drops at least. I think just staying a gen behind with Nintendo is the best course for me if they’re gonna combine the highest prices with no sales.
500 is steamdeck territory and several of it’s specs are higher than a steamdeck. I agree it’s a lot worse value proposition but that’s mostly the overall game library rather than the price being all that shocking to me.
The game prices seem outrageous now but GTA VI is going to cost a hundred dollars and prices are going to get weird. AAA already costs 70 on average and I’m pretty sure even before this it was only a matter of time before they just push it more.
None of this is to say it’s good, but I fully expect this is less of a wacky Nintendo thing, and more of a herald of new shitty norms to come.
