I like the 0.01% still calling for silksong
Democrats could win if Nintendo added 150$ to the Switch 2 price and publicly blamed Trump
And Nintendo should also fund a candidate
split between “these are are children who are divorced from market realities” and “you cannot explain inflation and other things away when people hand over X amount of money”
I’ve come to terms that going “actually games have been historically resilient to inflation” doesn’t make people feel better about having to pay an extra 10-20 bucks per title
kinda feeling like DK is the only game where I’m going “okay I see why they need a Switch 2”
also I guess Treehouse localized this game because that’s the only reason I can think of why it has “Oh, Banana!”
For the rest of time, new consoles will be followed by the company’s own self-congratulatory Digital Foundry episode.
wow i can’t wait to pay upper DLC premiums for this incredible difference
Messed up how DK’s design is revamped while this kong still has the Rare design. He really is retro now……

I feel disconnected from the general sentiment because I’m not overreacting to the pricing stuff
and then I start thinking about how old I am and
a Switch OLED is £240-ish new. information that is making it easy to come to a decision
waited all this time for GC emulation that I worked out how to do it myself

New Donkey Kong has the current objective shown on screen at all times…………
It looks awful tbh but disclaimer I haven’t enjoyed a DK since Donkey Kong Junior for the Game and watch
Wondering who’s making this at Nintendo exactly
it’s almost assuredly the Odyssey team, even the UI design and general graphical vibe seems similar
they also made Jungle Beat, the best DK game, so
I like how the bloodborne 2 trailer looks like someone at Nintendo got mad at them and told them to turn the brightness/contrast up at the last minute
bloodborne 2 devs saw smbhax’s thumbnails and were like ‘yes more of that actually’
The Retroid 5 is roughly the same price and fullspeed emulates ps2 and gamecube.
I am driven nuts by the people going “30 years ago games cost $60 which is like… $120+ in today dollars!” as like… Nintendo games maxed out at $60 a few years ago and that feels like the much more relevant bit of info. A $20/25% increase in prices in just a few years time is a ton, that people got an awful deal literally generations ago has almost nothing to do with that.
it’s also dumb because 1) purchasing power has not kept pace; 2) the cost of games in the early-mid 90s was tied to the cost of physical media (first party PS1 games were often $35, and huge amount of games were rereleased at $20 with the green greatest hits label, a big reason for the PS1 outpacing the N64 that is never mentioned anymore); and 3) the game market today is far larger and far more diversified, you can play an unlimited number of games at any price point you want, which makes a random ubisoft map painter at $75 a bit less appealing. nintendo might be playing with fire a bit, here. a squillion people bought mario kart to play with their kids, at $80 do they just say fuck it and let them stick with fucking minecraft?
