Switch 2 (part 1)

you can feed the monkeys at a park in Kyoto and I was really impressed by this one monkey who was holding her baby and kept gently putting the baby in front of people as if to say look feed my baby and then taking any food you moved towards them for herself

monkeys are just animals… no point getting any more upset by them than you do by lions and giraffes and snakes and whatnot… just my opinion here.

My original response to @Persona was actually just an elaborate ploy the rile up all the monkey haters on the forum in order to inspire a Donkey Kong Bananza Boycott and teach Nintendo a lesson… But unfortunately too many of you on here “love the monkey”, although I will say I was genuinely surprised by how long I got ye all to partake in monkey discourse… Sorry folks, feel free to go back to your videogame talk :speak_no_evil:

monkeys are cool…all animals are cool and i regularly bemoan not knowing any zoologists irl. you just know a zoologist would be ready with the fun facts locked and loaded .

a tangent with commitment is just a story arc

Literally anything is more fun than talking about the Switch 2

I never considered what kind of primates any of these characters are and now I’m surprised at how unsure I am about all of this

oh man i’ve been playing prime 4 nonstop since i got home from work and it’s so awesome. i was kinda worried at first with how ““epic”” and ““cinematic”” and ““prime 3-like”” they were trying to make it look like based on that demo in that stupid rock quarry area, but thankfully that’s just like the first 5 minutes of the game — right after that you are thrust into a deeply moody and contemplative atmospheric experience just like prime 1 and 2. there is a bit of a story going on with these NPC alien folk, but it’s done with a surprisingly light touch. one thing that might weird some people out tho is the scenes where samus and sylux have been making love with their suits on — i’ll admit i was weirded out at first, but as the psychic abilities of both characters have developed those scenes have become increasingly avant garde. also, the online 5v5 hero-shooter mode is excellent from what i’ve heard

I have no idea how they did the foley for when they’re knocking their suits together, it sounds like someone fucking a yahtzee cup

It’s not un-true. It just isn’t true yet. Like an old movie poster saying “Now In Theaters” it was true.

I’ve heard people saying that the Japanese model of the Switch 2 is incompatible with physical Switch 2 games sold outside Japan (but works with Switch 1 games).

Can anyone confirm this? Can’t find anything either way.

I was not prepared to learn that @Persona was actually Cuthbert this whole time… Good GOD!!!

Never played the original but I fired it up and - seems OK. Combat is smooth, but the transition graphic when you go into combat is kinda jerky, and the post-fight screens seem to hitch for a second.

I…probably should have gotten it on Steam, but it seems fine.

Edit: Actually this makes it sound like the Switch 1 version is more stable than the Steam version, at least as the Steam Deck goes.

Edit 2: I know the article concludes the Switch version is the worst version, but my eyes are choosing glaze over that bit using the power of “cognitive dissonance.”
