Get his ass cuthbert
Yeah they said as much. Only for Japanese soft.
re-entering the Switch 2 HDR vortex
okay I checked my PS5 with tonemapping on and off and my TV would be set to 2000 nits with tonemapping on and ~1500 with it off and hey, HDR looks fine on it
I go back to the Switch. tonemapping on puts me on… 10000 nits? tonemapping off puts me in the low 1000s?
you know what, TV, Switch, fuck it. blind me. sear my retinas. I don’t care. I don’t need eyes where I’m going.
this is ignoring that my TV seems to not get along with the system very well. it does CEC stuff properly so it’ll switch inputs automatically when I wake the system up but it throws up the framebuffer of the previous source sometimes? also this happened and taught me the Switch 2 supports 480p:
I didn’t even know 480p with HDR was possible. cool I guess?
good news to these people
you can start a Gamechat session and play your Switch 1 game in a window at 720p
I hope they get over their sickness in the interim
IGN gives Switch 2 a 7/10.
And DF have their review up but I haven’t watched it yet because it’s considerably longer than IGN’s.
there is no sane, reasonable review of any console two weeks out from launch and any grading of the platform at this point in time is little more than a referendum on spending 500 dollars to play Mario Kart
with that said, they should probably be getting devkits to anyone with a pulse and have a direct that’s not 15 minutes of DK being horny on main for bananas (not that that’s bad. game looks unhinged in a good way. I mean, as unhinged as a Nintendo game can rate)
I hate every time someone figures out something else about the HDR because then I go set it - again - and hop into Mario Kart to make sure it looks right and then waste 20 minutes in free roam after I find another P switch
With these trick-based shortcuts, Mario Kart has finally become a game where you need to go into “the lab” and practice stuff.
I may be getting too old to play this and not in the way my wife’s friends mean it.
I was going to suggest a community time trial thing, but then I spent the morning racing against the Shy Guy Bazaar ghost from @bib and my hand hurts and now I think it’s a bad idea.
i wondered why i wasn’t seeing you on there…
i’ve been having a good time doing them but i’ve still only really looked at maybe the first two cups of tracks or so
as usual, i’m in
Is there a video with all the hot shortcuts? I play casually but I’d love to try and practice some
Oh no yakuza karaoke with switch buttons
calling yourself twink bricks your console and nintendos official advice is to just return it
jesus
Some people looked into this and found out this guy has lots of history in piracy subreddits, so it’s likely that he actually just got banned for using a Mig Switch.
I have spoken to several people IRL who were interested in Donkey Kong Bananza but did not realize it’s a Switch 2 exclusive.
Strange that people seem to understand Mario Kart World is an exclusive but they don’t understand Donkey Kong Bananza is.
I would be more interested in it if it didn’t look quite so much like Zelda does now — it’s not just that it’s clearly using the same engine, it just seems really listless in its approach to open world design. I get the sense that they successfully onboarded all of EAD to the same tools sometime between Mario Odyssey and Tears of the Kingdom and so far the primary use of those is to make semi-simulationist toys with not-after-all-that-interesting platformer controls
