didn’t buy one and currently don’t plan to, so feel free to claim that single voice of mine, i am going to test-drive Claire 33s intro this evening!

Hmm no new firmware for these third-party switch/steam deck docks yet:

it’s kind of insane that one of the core functions of the joycon strap, to make the shoulder/side buttons not fucking awful to use, seems to have been forgotten for the joycon 2 mouse condoms

I’m so frustrated because all my mixboxes that are Brook or GP2040 powered don’t work on Switch 2! I keep seeing people say their stuff does work though, what’s the deal

My mayflash f500 arcade stick is working on the switch 2 without any updates. I haven’t tried any of my 8bitdo stuff yet. It is pretty annoying in general that usb controllers don’t just universally work everywhere. It is the Universal Serial Bus after all.

Wait are there really no games for switch 2 yet?

Apparently there’s Mario Kart, Welcome Tour and a bunch of other games that were already out.

no it seems bad, it only let’s you adjust the peak brightness and then probably assumes the floor

HDR isn’t about flashbanging you, it’s about making the highs standout through strong contrast. Sony gets it and the PS5 has you set peak high and low

with that said, the HDR from the dock seems fine and the tonemapping to SDR also seems fine. the LCD on the system itself though is like holding a gun to the colors and telling them to oversaturate or else

anyway now that I’ve found out that Koopa Troopa Beach is Baby Park (the drive from the track to Faraway Oasis even has an EDM remix of Baby Park’s music) I sadly have to proclaim that the game is perfect

it’s more that it has what is functionally an old fashioned pack in game, and anything else you’re likely to want to play on it in the next few months is like, an OG switch game you never got around to

Donkey Kong Rogue City: Unfinished Bananza

Try getting too stoned to play Mario Kart competently and then wandering around in free roam until you’ve collected yourself. It’s nice! Less of an open world and more of an open chillout tent.

Don’t think anyone here was going to buy one but the new pro controller’s d-pad is just as bad as the original to no one’s surprise lol. You press a diagonal and a whole bunch of extra inputs come out. I still feel satisfied with the purchase because i keep saying “it feels so nice in my hands” to myself but yeah, good to hear about that 8bitdo firmware update

I regret to be informed that Yoshi was in fact a starting character… Don’t know how I missed him. But Donkey Kong was NOT a starting character, so I’m still spiritually correct.

So dumb question but is there a way to redownload your old games on your Switch 2 if you don’t have your Switch 1 on hand to “unload” the Virtual Card? I’m not in that camp but I can imagine scenarios like this. It seemed to me that the only way to redownload my games was to link my Switch 1.

Thought my Switch 2 came with built-in stick drift and wrote a customer support mail until I googled how to turn off gyro turning. What a weird decision.

I like the open world. Sure, I wish they would’ve gone for the car-RPG route like the later Choro Q games instead of just a giant Tony Hawk level, but there’s enough cute characters bumping around and the P missions do a good job of teaching me how to play modern Mario Kart. Maybe. Because the racing still feels like I’m rewarded for doing nothing right and punished for doing nothing wrong.

they let you rebind the joycon2 side buttons now

you can be absolutely insane and play Mario Kart one handed if you wanted
