More serious Mario Kart analysis.
I’m still waiting for Nintendo to reach down from the heavens and do me the great honor of allowing me to purchase their product. No email yet. If anyone else gets one of those emails and doesn’t want a switch 2, hit me up! I’m not proud but I am ready to play some Mario kart.

The Digital Foundry article (perhaps wisely) refrains from interpreting these specs. It’s kind of fraught to compare these numbers with other platforms, because there are multiple axes of comparison and there doesn’t exist a close match.
But IMO it still has to be done, otherwise the specs remain just a bunch of mysterious numbers, so here’s my attempt after doing a bit of research:
- Playstation-wise, the raw specs are somewhere in between PS4 and PS4 Pro. But the Switch 2 also has DLSS upscaling, which if used properly, arguably makes it better than a PS4 Pro.
- PC-wise, the closest point of comparison would be a 5-year-old entry-level gaming laptop (the Switch 2 specs are slightly below a 2020 mobile Ryzen 3 and mobile RTX 3050).

I don’t listen to anyone talking about dpads, none of them know what the fuck they’re talking about. the switch pro dpad is so bad that if you’re not immediately sure this one is different, then it doesn’t matter, because even if you’re right it’s not different enough
