Once I found that big time save, clearly I had to go back and redo the run. It took some hefty grinding (today alone was ~8 hours!) but I also managed to break the sub-30 minute barrier by more than a minute.

speedrun community has had a lot of abuse allegations of various severity. we had to ban someone from the wave race 64 server for being a creep (stealinbread in this list)

I really should be doing more productive things with my time but hey, here we are. This is the No Upgrades run, where I go through the same areas but with only a sword in my hand and a zipline on my hip. I found some real interesting strategies to compensate, highly optimized the beginning with practice and finally nailed the really interesting stuff in the last couple of levels. The record was originally 33:40 when I started so thatās a seven and change time savings altogether.

Destiny 1 has a bunch of weird narrow categories I didnāt know about. So Iām thinking about casually running āNG+ Mars DLCā which is a category where you play through all of the DLC story missions taking place on Mars with the Heroic modifier on. Mars has only 3 DLC missions total, and theyāre pretty breezy so itās a nice little category. And it has exactly 0 entries right now!
But I donāt have a capture card so I canāt actually make a proper video proof of my entire run unless I get it to fit within 15 min, the length of the PS4 share button bufferā¦ currently Iām up around 18 min RTA so I better get optimizing
can you stream it to twitch directly from the ps4 and have archiving turned on? could submit the VOD then. otherwise, worth noting there are very nice cheap capture cards now if all you need is to capture video from an HD game console that isnāt the PS3 specifically:

I donāt think these capture cards usually work on Macs and Iām not going to install Windows. Messing with Twitch is more trouble than Iām willing to put up with right now
Actually trying to get it in the buffer is actually pretty good motivation to improve my times anyway

anyway I managed to shave off two extra minutes and now I only need maybe an extra minute to get it to fit in the buffer, and Iām not even really using any real strats yet
edit: wait I guess I didnāt have all the missions unlocked on that character like I thought so Iāve been missing two missions? RIP
the one i linked should work on anything, including windows/mac/linux/android/etc. itās UVC stuff. anyway i think going for faster times is a great idea!
