the song ruled, though
I’m just bitter that I’ll never play a sonic with a happy ending.
*Including Adventure, where the entire earth is flooded.
in what goddamn world are the Sonic 2 and 3 bonus stages hard
Have you tried to get the seventh emerald in Sonic 2 recently? I was playing on my PVM last time and the amount of blind corners and ring/bomb switcharoos was obscene.
in the world where I don’t replay them because I didn’t enjoy them and they were too different from the core mechanics and I’m a baby
the sonic 1 and 3 bonus stages are both pretty fair, the sonic 2 ones are just ugggggggh after the first couple
further supporting my position that sonic 2 has the best first ten minutes of any sonic game but then you can probably play a different one
like even the sound design in the sonic 2 special stages is uncharacteristically bad
I do like that they made them by just rendering a bunch of still frames at half the megadrive’s native resolution and writing their own cheapo compression algorithm and changing the colours for the later levels with the net result that the whole shifting tunnel effect is just, like, 30 jpegs on a one megabyte cartridge
i played 2 and 3 a lot, eventually got decent at getting all the chaos emeralds on most playthroughs.
the hyper emerald stages in 3 are a bit of a pain, though, as is a lot of the later Blue Sphere levels
ALL’s WELL THAT ENDS WELL.
Using this reply to say that y’all should “get” the Sonic CD Anniversary Soundtrack because it sounds fucking incredible and really will ruin pretty much any redbook audios shit garbage compression for you.
Like the recent Snatcher release is clearly just the Sega CD rips and sounds like trash.
confirmed never played Mean Bean Machine
my first puyo puyo was kirby’s avalanche
I am not an animal
Kirby’s Avalanche version is obviously superior because it features Kirby being a little shit to everyone in Dream Land
DEAL WITH IT WADDLE DEE
hal labs’ 1994-96 output is just so solid
oh how I LOVE Kirby’s avalanche the best of the bean matching games,
reminder that puyo puyo 20th anniversary for wii emulates great if you don’t mind japanese menus
and if you do mind japanese menus and have a flashcart, i’m pretty sure all the ds puyo puyo games have translation patches (including both 15th and 20th anniversary)
