There’s a couple machines here at combo breaker. You guys want me to check it out at al?
Do people look like they enjoy it?
It’s not super hype but there are always people there.
Don’t check it out for me, check it out for yourself. This is a great point to get back into KOF. As for me, I’ll have my chance to try it out at CEO next month.
I think Hein will be my new guy. He looks particularly awesome, for my purposes.
It will be fun to put him on a team with King and… well, there’s no Vanessa, no Oswald… but I’ll find someone.
King also looks to play particularly well this time around.
Bored of stealing moves from good Shotos, Yuri this year decides to steal a move from Dan (his SF4 Ultra 1). But this is Yuri, the objectively strongest student of Kyokugenryuu (having been the closest to top tier the most times), so she’ll make it work.
Also, her new voice actress is decent, but I almost miss the ear-splitting quality of her old VA from KOF 13. You haven’t known aural pain until you’ve heard players practicing her butt loop (“DAAAAAAAAH DAAAAAAAAH RAI OH KEN”) on a Microsoft store stereo system. Ah, those were the days…
So many night stages in this game.
I did it. I bought a PS4 just to play this game.
Violent fighting to come again.
Didn’t even notice the new actress; she just sounds like Yuri to me, much as Ryo does. Good casting, I guess!
Her model feels off to me. Not goony enough.
What stages haven’t we seen now? Is it just the Women Fighters and Villains teams?
Ah, yes. And boss, of course.
The music so far sounds tonally correct but pretty bland. Everything sounds like a noodly, unmotivated variation on a familiar theme. It’s like the opposite of the breathless intensity of XI.
Iori’s may have the most energy.
I wonder who’s writing it all. It’s so safe, so content to decorate the background and not call attention to itself.
Gang-Il has Kim’s old stomp with some follow-ups out of it as well that long range lunging kick but with least three hits of super armor, at least before he starts the lunge. Pretty crazy. I guess he’s a good way to bring in some of Kim’s old flavors in.
Luong has such a Mature vibe, doesn’t help that she has Rugal kicks
Kim’s supporting cast is now large enough to warrant its own spin-off
I could go for the Kim of Fighters.
Kim of Fighters:Fight Fever
Kim of Fighters: Battle of the Smoothest Pants Ever Animated
Main villain is some martial artist starch company CEO?
I’LL STRAIGHTEN MY PANTS WITH YOUR BLOOD
I still think the ideal spin-off venue for Kim & pals is a sitcom. Kim is the protagonist. Chang and Choi are his roommates. Jhun is Kramer, basically. Luong and Gang-Il are side characters who show up in fan-favorite episodes. Same deal with May Lee? Jae Hoon and Dong Hwan, uh…I guess they get into topical trouble for the sake of Very Special Episodes?
I agree, though, the Kim and Friends Power Hour has only gotten more robust over time. Kim himself is a great candidate for faux-everyman protagonist – somebody superficially clean-cut and normal with moments of extreme and hilarious mania. Plus the most perfect teeth God ever stuck into gums. Kim’s Dentist for DLC?
