thanks but i can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong with this tune, and that key change in particular. i’m fine with how it gets there, but the loop-back seems more jarring than it should be.

i think maybe i’ve run into another comma, with 12-TET landing the new tonal centre somewhere in between two simple exact harmonies, and my brain can’t quite figure out whether to resolve it up or down. shifting the pitch by +/-10 cents makes it sound a little better, i think? but it’s very hard to pick apart these fine differences

I’ll eventually get to a full set - the plan is to alternate between a sound like this (more melodic, structured) and the video I posted above during a set

I’m having a lot of fun with this current setup though, it really feels like more than any other setup I’ve used I can get all big and emotional and melodic and still get all rowdy with the mini modular

wow

it’s a pretty huge file but if anyone gets it to load you’ll be able to see the stuff that i’ll just post more of now that everything is set up

day 82 of learning guitar. i’ve been picking up the guitar damn near every day. just learned power chords and some rock/punk songs, also working on dom7 chords, i’m sort of lazing my way thru JustinGuitar beginner grade 2

also working on fretboard memorization, and trying to figure out if i’m committed enough to drop $bigmoney on lessons. i feel like i need to define my goals a little better, i think i want to be writing my own riff-based songs as sort of a singer-songwriter thing. i have a spotify playlist of songs i’ve been learning / want to learn, but mostly i’ve been looking at it as a way to build up my chops

just finishing up another ambient track i got paid for to do for the same project i did the above tracks for. this one is more or less done:
