Always had better luck kinda tilting the index finger to the side so the bone was closer to the skin, rather than pressing directly down with the meatier part

I did that and combined with ‘pull the body of the guitar with the right arm to create pressure’ and it seems to be working

from what I hear, Yamaha Pacifica is good as always, and the squier classic vibe series punches way above its price
mine is just an affinity strat from 08 but with a decent setup it’s good
