this is lush and gorgeous funk, thank u for sharing
@meauxdal more praise for you
You managed to cover a Bob Dylan song and totally make if your own, which is incredible.
Think about how many wretched covers of his songs that exist, he’s very hard to do but you nailed it. So jealous!
record 10 songs / 35 minutes of music in the month of February

this is another funky little thing, please enjoy. not to toot my own horn too much, but i really like my key solo at 4:44
not sure if this counts but i ran the sims 1 build mode music through a couple of dumb garageband things and uploaded it to youtube. i probably spent more time on the picture (and figuring out why garageband didn’t like the original file format) than i did the actual music but i like the end result
Been a while longer since I posted this, but it’s finished as of yesterday! 366 pieces of music over one year (technically). It’s a bit all over the place, but I learned a lot. Glad I did it.

Wonderful to see this thread more active, gonna make an effort to go through as much as I can. (EDIT: y’all are really somethin’ else, damn) Although @spacetown! I did manage to flick through your weeklybeats stuff on bandcamp - solid techno throughout mate, hits hard. :>
Don’t want to take up too much space, so I’ll just leave one of my recent favourites here:
good to hear from you @HEAVYVIPER

christ this is good
me too
I was listening to a few of these in the playlist today and having a good time, it’s very inspiring to see what someone can create in just part of a day, whereas I spend way too much time noodling and getting frustrated. It’s inspiring me to continue practicing and learning to use my tools.
The value of knowing your tools is definitely something I took away from it. There’s no way I would have been able to keep up the pace if I wasn’t comfortable with what I was working with.
Importantly, it really hit home the idea that constantly trying to make something “new” or “original” is going to end with you frustrated, demotivated and unhappy. It’s okay to make crap. It’s okay to reuse ideas. Exploration and discovery is how you find your technique, while repetition and refinement is how you find your voice.
it is on Bandcamp now and it is Huge

is it cool if i just post unfinished doodles in here? i just need to like practice a lot to get my skills up, and i want to share even tho i haven’t " " finished " "
(it’s really quiet sry, turn ur volume up)
(just to tangent, i don’t want to use ‘i didn’t finish it’ as a dodge or anything to avoid criticism, i’m just excited that i got some stuff down on paper for the first time in a month. i hope in future i can doodle but also finish some tracks)
I’m doing RPM challenge this month so hopefully a record by end of Feb. what it will look like idk.
