Mystiq Quest is so pleasant
As I begin anew, I have to go back to the stage where everything looks kind of boring, but I’m finally making myself play with real shapes and actually answer real questions about how the hell to fit this thing together.
I have had enough of geometry nodes (got it working the way I want) & the basics of retopology. have started modelling of details
“make a flat pane of glass”
me sweatily trying to adjust two grids jesus fuck what I am doing that makes this so hard. bevel? scale?? pivot point???
how thick should glass be anyway, 1-2 metres? sure why not
girls only know surface subdivision modifier, extrude, and translate locked to global Z
the result of an experiment in which I scanned a portrait that I was working on from my sketchbook then added some shading digitally in procreate on my ipad.
I’ve been really slacking lately and haven’t done a lot of it but I’m pretty into photography.
Some of my favorites:

here are detail swatches. no lighting or material tweaks yet, using presets or sample materials as much as possible!
Is your plan to use these details as greebles that you distribute on whatever the main object will be via geonodes?
yep. in fact, the main object will be just these greebles all stitched together. heavily inspired by the Tissue add-on’s Tesselate function

Experimenting with world ideas and trying out different approaches to modeling an 80s computer. The lion came from an asset pack I bought on Humble Bundle, but I wanted to put my own spin on it so I started trying different textures out on it. It’ll probably end up as a prop in a world sometime.
I continue to be deeply indecisive about exactly what I’m putting together but I do keep liking my blockouts. I feel like I’m getting closer, piece by piece.
