SB game idea megathread

A Walk at Night has some light platforming (and cute secrets, if you poke around) but it’s pretty close to that description

keeping up with the kardashians musou

a ‘real’ FFT sequal or prequal,
just a new Zodiac Brave deal…

none 'o that ‘advance’ filth…

i posted this on twitter (or tumblr? or both?) a few daysago, but: a final boss that can’t be defeated, but there are different endings depending on how you perform in the last battle before you die

i wonder if something like this exists, but i feel like a good thing would be a chill-out tetris, where you start on a really fast speed and then gradually slow down to level 1 speed, but the amount of lines you have to clear gets much higher with every step down

game where you run through the woods, hide in closets and strangle dudes with neckties, belts, etc. first person strangler / melee-em-up (with junk like bricks, kitchen knives, rocks). you are some poor shmuck being chased by top secret parts of the government like the woods scene in E.T. or the x-files.

key points: nighttime, dark places, feeling of being chased, necessity of doing terrible deeds up close and personal, hiding.

Horror game like Amnesia, but the monsters that you are running and hiding from are plot spoilers from various pop culture media

You run a management agency for public science intellectuals. The middlebrow Athiest v Religion TV debate quest line is def risky as it gives a quick boost to the hype stat of one of your guys offering quick $$$ but following this the relevance stat tends to go downhill pretty damn fast. The simulation is a bit finicky but thats sim games for you.

moment in a shenmue/yakuza-like where you take ecstasy and have to manage your hydration levels using the analog stick while playing a four-button rhythm game with triangle, square, circle, and the holy cross

Doesn’t FE7 kinda sorta do that? What with the player technically existing as the character of the tactician, complete with the set up of starting the story getting nursed to health by a cute nomad girl who then runs off with some prince or other or possibly her lesbian friend.

no we lyndis totally tells the player she loves him/her but that shes gotta dip to rule a kingdom. its your own dumb ass fault for not following her

Player 1 plays from a first person perspective, and is a non-combatant (medic, wandering priest, w/e).

Player 2 is a warrior/soldier and plays from a third person perspective. That character is (very) recently blinded.

Player 1’s character must act as Player 2 character’s eyes (in mechanical terms, player 2’s third-person camera is entirely dependent on player 1’s position and facing). Player 1 is vulnerable both to enemy attacks and inadvertently getting killed by player 2 if they miscoordinate.

Aren’t daft post-colon titles more of a Kingdom Hearts thing

Pokemon style game where the monsters jump out to challenge you to a jam session and you can recruit them to play in your band

Dark Souls x Psychonauts: Explore the psyches of a group of people in Soulsborne-esque fashion. Each person has multiple layers to their personality, which is largely expressed through level design and architecture. The connections between two person-regions are relationships, and they intertwine and muddle the themes of the two people.
