That’s a game changer, honestly. And literally. Hate rebooting the app to just change games.
Trying to figure out how to get Playstation games to run well. Were I brave and just logged in, I could install epsxe, which I think is still the go-to Android Playstation emulator. I love the game myself, but having watched too many ETA Prime videos where he uses Bloody Roar 2 as a benchmark, I keep fussing with PCSX ReArmed settings without much luck. It runs fine in Retroid mode!
I spent money on this thing, I may as well figure out how to make it work.
Yeah, you gotta go into the little Toolbox app and install the Retroid OS, then boot into that.
Only then can you play Electro Sperm and Iron Fist of Anger 3.
Been having a bit more fun with mine. Someone on Reddit said that PSX games run a lot better with the bios installed. I’ll…believe it when I see it! But hopefully so.
I guess, as with all things Retroarch on low powered hardware, it’s a lot of “which of these slight variations of SNES9X is gonna let me run this specific game a tiny bit smoother.” The ol’ Libretro Lottery.
I started like four different Zelda games under the name ASSMAN and played enough to see someone call Link “ASSMAN,” so I feel I accomplished a little something.
That said, I’m probably gonna reformat the MicroSD to internal storage, so I can just hook the system directly to my laptop and load ROMs onto it versus trying to fish the microSD out of that extremely narrow little bay with my awful sausage fingers.
I’ve got it formatted as external memory but I might try to reformat it as internal memory, just for ease of dropping stuff in there. Assuming it works!!
jesus what nightmare person can deal with one of these Pandora’s Box interfaces? How did this become the default? I definitely want button 1 to be (Right button) but if I change I literally fuck over any fighter that seems to be mostly taken care of honestly.
Weird they advertise Ridge Racers 2 PSP As the first game in Retroid OS when it does not run good.
the standalone flycast does make Sonic Adventure work and ran through the first 10 minutes of Zero Mission without a problem in Retroarch. Will make a burner google account to grab apps.
But the Retroid OS does have 2000 mame roms and I do find arcade porno games delightful. Bubble Symphony runs fine but Sega Scaler games run like shit.
They also have a lot of delightful and creative twice translated file names.
The Retroid OS SMB3 is some weird hack that has been featured in multiple reviews as a complaint about performance but just based off 30 seconds with Zelda 2 and Castlevania run fine. But also Retroid OS is a Nightmare and that’s why you get me to try and figure this shit out.
if I’ve already ordered this but haven’t received shipping confirmation yet, is it good enough of a handheld that I should just wait for it to arrive instead of canceling it and getting another handheld, do you think?
