Generally speaking how’s the comfort and button feel for the market? I’ve always associated these devices with discomfort so people saying it felt like Vita buttons is what stood out to me.
Not too sure, honestly. Mostly just paranoia on my part (that, and my local post office has been messing up deliveries lately, so I’d hate to wait for it and them to up and lose it).
Obviously the language barrier could cause errors but one way is we should receive our systems by the 25. Either way I will probably have mine before y’all because of location.
Got my shipping upgraded (cool!), but it’s also, uhh, past the date they said they were gonna ship the first batch, so I’m pretty sure my 11th hour order in US time is firmly “second batch” in China hours. Ah dang.
Looking at the reddit for this thing and a lot of folks are bungling theirs by upgrading certain apps, or deleting default ones. That seems, uh, not great!
At the same time, though, I dunno why you wouldn’t just…use Retroarch? It’s right there!
(I mean I get that some Android apps are more optimized for this sort of thing, but still)
“Everyone I’ve seen cover this has left a rather crucial bit of info out of their reviews.
The second analog stick doesn’t actually register analog movement. It’s basically a second D-pad and from personal experience, it’s not great.” - Youtube comment
Apparently from another review I watched that’s just in the default OS/emulator, but custom emulators on the Android side can deal with them separately.
I think you are talking about something else. In the Retroid OS the D pad and the right analog stick are mapped to the same inputs. You can’t use them separately.
Rudie seems to be suggesting that the left analog stick is not actually analog but entirely digital.
I don’t really know - my understanding from various sources is that it does have multiple levels of sensitivity but the underlying mechanism is digital but when I write that out it seems silly. I’m sure even regular analog sticks are actually digital in their implementation.
