sincere question does anyone really stan for Ada Wong? not saying that i outright dont like her but the only time shes really worked for me has been in og RE4s ridiculous camp spy action milieu where she like throws down flashbang sunglasses and scares off mendez by rappelling down and shooting at hin through a window. She just seems like a non-sequitur to me in RE2 which is… not at all more grounded but is at least more of a zombie survival story featuring pre crazy american superspy Leon. I also didnt really care for the original Separate Ways campaign so that might be a bias

i admit i havent played RE6 where based on my understanding she fits in well

She’s cool in the movies I guess. But those are just as campy, if not more, than the games.

Separate Ways looks substantially different from Assignment Ada so maybe they actually develop the character a bit more.

the remake is still extremely campy imo. I love how they did her in the remake too. she’s got this evil HR manager gone rogue vibe, it’s so good.

She fits in Resident Evil 6 very well but RE6 is also a mess of a story. I like her fine in 2, 2 remake, and 4. Her being exceptional in 2 doesn’t really phase me because the basic vibe of Resident Evil is that corporations are omnipotent evil and normal people have to fight them, so the heroes are scrappy and the villains are mysterious mary sues. Hunk and Ada go together. RE4 is basically GymKata so every named operative gets to be a mary sue. 6 is like a Marvel crossover movie in which the vibe is just about getting as much absurdity onto screen as possible without regard to anything else.

Some rich asshole wants to fuck her so bad it starts World War B.O.W., Resident Evil 6 stays winning.

Ada’s role as Femme Fatale Double Agent alongside her will they, won’t they dynamic with Leon is the maximum allowance of Sexy in the REVerse because the only alternative is Sleeper Creeper Steve Burnside

Also the new DLC has some good boss fightin’ and Wesker mentioning something something Saturation in a codec chat

Yes! Resident evil is first and foremost a franchise about hot people being cool. ada blueballing leon 24/7 is one of the funniest things in resident evil. and she was amazing in re4!!!

like Ada has to fight an evil sllme war criminal clone of herself created by a guy in a bolo tie who impotently jerks off to VHS tapes of her, and the clone still wont fuck him. its fucking ridiculous, and funny. I always love how all of her campaigns are always some goofy shit where she happens to be in the right place to save leon every single time while hes like 1000 feet away so he just wonders why hes suddenly hard

somehow she is probably the only female character in this series who has stayed consistent (shes leons love interest super spy with mysterious motives but she never actually is evil because umbrella killed her fuckin boyfriend!) and hasnt been character assassinated by capcom yet. The separate ways DLC they just released is probably longer than the RE3 remake.

idk why but i had the thought today like “leon s. kennedy is the most punished boy in gameing” (in the sense i cant think of many cutie protagonists who get destroyed and torn apart quite as much as he does)

Welcome to raccoon City was made by someone who hates Leon. every character berates him at least once and we are constantly told/shown how incompetent and stupid he is because the writer heard “rookie” and assumed the entire thing is about shitting on how dumb he is
