I just feel like they worked with the game’s setting and narrative well. trad RE style zombies wouldn’t have worked as well imo.

it sounds sort of like the focus may not have been on ‘adding new sections’ but looking at what sections worked in the original game and implementing them in new ways to aid the new methods of traversing the world

like someone said earlier, this ridiculous police station is less creepy art gallery and more like a dungeon of horrors now

Quake 4 is cool but I categorize it with stuff like the Far Cry healing animations. Neat, gross first person body integrity horror, but not on the same level as climbing a ladder with bones hanging out of your stump or crawling to retrieve your foot. I want to see normal actions recontextualized by what’s happened to your e-body.

RE3 is the one I haven’t played for a long time, so upon near future replay I might reconsider it. Still need to play/finish other games not featured on the list.

And despite that list, I enjoy every game on the list with the exception of ORC. Fuck that piece of shit.

I expect remake of 2 to land below 2 but above Rev2.

And then everything else is stuff I don’t care about. Gaiden was trash, the Gun Survivors are not good at all, the Chronicles games are a better approach to Gun Surviving, but still pretty whatever to me. 5 and 6 were not for me at all.

I was almost tempted to rank 3 above 2 and below 1, but as much as I liked the concept of having a persistent pursuer throughout the game, its rehashing of RE2’s environments made it feel more like a side-story to 2 (which was the original intention) than its own thing. It’d be rad as fuck if they tacked on RE3 to the RE2make.

Super been thinking the same, it’s the kind of radical change I’m very down with. Doesn’t take much of anything away to make it all one big thang.

Much like 2 the gist of the content’s pre-existing but doing the extra areas and models, etc maybe too bloated of a project.

Yeah, I really don’t think there’s any way Capcom would include RE3 as part of the RE2make, even as paid DLC. I think they would much rather have the option available to them of releasing a remake of it further on down the line at full price, should they ever decide to do one. The most we’d get would be Jill’s RE3 outfit for Claire or Ada or something or a Nemesis skin for Mr. X. Just something completely fucking trivial and superficial to the game.

But it would be pretty cool if, after beating RE2, “LAST ESCAPE” appeared on the title screen below New and Continue Game.

Also, I haven’t been paying attention to anything they’ve released regarding the RE2make, but I feel like I heard somewhere that they’re ditching the A and B scenario stuff. I hope that is not true.
