hahahaa okay i had to click it to figure out whats going on
They seems to be signaling āweāre actually sticking to the gameā hard, although all of Claireās lines are all like āI am the chosen hero who will stop Umbrellaā rather than āsituation is fucked, I gotta find my brother and get out of hereā, so they seem to be missing the thread there. but itās just a trailer, so all that could be extremely misleading construction
If itās fun trash with some decent setpieces Iāll enjoy it though
The Mortal Kombat movie is not that great but it really understands the essence of all the characters and I think that part of it holds up. āRE protagonistā is a thing that never seems to make the jump outside of the games and I think itās important to making a good adaptation of it
What the hell is going on with Leon Kennedyās hair
Leon is supposed to be some non-threatening Leonardo DiCaprio or River Phoenix-type 90s pretty boy, so the actorās look doesnāt really work for me, but Iām guessing he wonāt even be like the Leon we know from the game, anyway. The Chris seems decent, though ā at least he looks more like Chris than he did in the Wide Screen Anderson movie (though, the Fake Chris in the second movie wasnāt bad, but also not explicitly Chris).
Iām not really feeling Claireās actress (people kept bringing up Skins, but Iāve never seen a single episode of what I presume to be English Degrassi), but I also wasnāt feeling Claireās re-design for the RE2make, either, so, whatever. Hereās hoping she has more of a personality than just stoic and anti-Umbrella, otherwise, sheās going to wind up like just another Alice except without the super powers to solve her problems.
Also, I absolutely hate the dramatic remixes of songs trope in trailers, and Iām not sure I understand what they were going for with the 4 Non-Blondes, because while I can read that as them going, ālol dramatic trailer remixes are lame so weāre going to use a song people (unfairly) only remember as a memeā, Iām more just confused and donāt think that was the intention.
Regardless, looks better than Wide Screenās bullshit, so I donāt have any real complaints yet.
Yeah donāt watch, itās irritating. Some friends worked on it and acted in it and we all hated it anyway
I really wonder how indicative these little details are that they are going to strike the right tone and to what degree they end up being cynical set dressing. I mean, the silent hill movie had a lot of direct allusions!
Beat Village. Best in series IMHO
i heard good things about the soundtrack though

Capcomās 1997 E3 press kit mistakenly refers to Leon S. Kennedy as āLeon Walkerā on the page for Resident Evil 2, conflating Leon and (proto Claire Redfield) Elza Walkerās names.
Iāve been playing through all the old Resi games for the first time recently. Iāve done 1-3 and now Code Veronica. I just want to say Iām amazed at how CV is maybe 3 times as long as the others but doesnāt ever feel really bloated or padded out. Good game.
Is there really no explanation of how Steve can fly a plane??
Resident Evil is a universe of comically over-talented individuals. Rebecca did helicopter maintenance in the PS1 RE1.
You ever think of how (some) RE have weirdly grounded mechanics for its narrative dressing? Most games, especially the tonally serious ones, have you playing as Nathan Everyman and you down a thousand terrorist mooks. RE gives special operatives guns, knives and first aid kids and itās a struggle to survive just a few zombies. Your stiff controls and horror mechanics put you in about as realistic changes of success as a real trained cop might in this situation. It makes the juxtaposition against the matrix stuff in CV and 5 even more awesome.
