REDACTED [Takenobu Mitsuyoshi Remix] - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Thread Extended

I mean, I love me some Incineroar, but yeah, dude is not great, but is a Boss. His posing after every move is the best.

My character unlock routine at this point is mostly to accept that I’m going to get rocked by whoever challenges me, wait until the little rechallenge door appears, and then bop 'em with Little Mac.

Now that I’m thinkin’ about it, this was my procedure for the last Smash game, so yeah, it checks out.

man wait what the hell you just fight a straight castlevania dracula boss in classic mode

does every character have shit like this

You fight Rathalos with Yoshi.

(But no, nothing quite as cool as that Dracula fight. Not that I’ve seen, anyway.)

A few characters have interesting final boss fights but some just get The Hands

For a Hands fight, Ryu’s is very, very good.

Link gets a Ganon fight as well.

the lack of landing lag on ken’s dragon punch is really throwing me for a loop

I go in every single time thinking I’m going to get the biggest combo and then they just roll away

it is very, very strange

There’s one other character that I know of that gets to fight Dracula, and it wasn’t one I was expecting.

I think I first fought him as pacman?

Yeah, that was the one.

I think I’ve only got…I dunno, maybe 10 characters left to unlock?

One of those goddamn Fire Emblem goons walloped me before I even had a chance to hit them, so I’ll have to rematch 'em later.

I just want Duck Hunt :frowning:

Speaking of Duck Hunt - that stage actually kinda renders in a cool way? I wonder if all of the more 2D stages (Kirby GB, Game & Watch, etc.) do it, too, but messing around in photo mode and the characters are rendered almost completely flat, with stuff like the Duck Hunt UI sticking out more. It’s kinda neat.

I unlocked all the characters last night! Now I’m gonna keep working on World of Light, wrapping up the last few Classic modes I haven’t finished, and focus on trying to get more music from the shop.

I wish there was a little more variety in Classic Mode because it does whatever Spirits Mode is trying to do but better and more concisely.

the load times are tough to deal with in spirits mode compared to how short the rounds are

bring back Wario’s 3ds launch DI bug as a feature of the character

what was that?

so far the characters i’m most successful with seem to be K Rool and the Wii Fit Trainer, which i had not expected. the routine of chugging through classic and getting a challenge and either winning or going back with K Rool to flatten them later is kinda nice, but does anyone know what bonuses you get from getting points in the credits sequence? that part gets tedious

If you notice the meter at the bottom, it fills up as you score, getting you some extra items on the final summary for that run. Not really worth it too much, and you can just press start to fast forward it.

As far as I can tell, only do the credits minigame to get the presents from the bar at the bottom to get various things like spirits, music, mii costumes and various gacha currencies.

Wii Fit is fun because their gimmick is that most of their attacks hit both sides of the character so you can cover a lot of options when you try to get a read on rolls.

ok cool, i noticed the presents from that are tallied up in ‘credits’ on the results screen but i wasn’t sure if that meant like, credits to play a different game mode or something. thnku
