Wonder if Taito these days are just by extension as difficult as Squeenix is implied to be to negotiate with.
Looking through their back catalogue and I kind of want to get Legend of Kage man just to see them keep the jumping as accurate as possible

Gosh, who owns the image of a VTuber? They build their avatars out of art assets provided by their puppet software, right? Do VTubers commision custom skins once they get big enough, so they have control of it?
this was an interesting question because one of the early* breakout vtubers kizuna ai was recast and her original actress phased out and replaced with multiple other actresses much to the fanbase’s chagrin
at this point, most of the more famous vtubers are run by psuedo-idol agencies like hololive and nijisanji who commission artists to create the vtuber rigs in the first place so the image of the character is in control of the corporation and they have concerts, appears in tv commercials, go on talk shows like any other idols
there are alternate business models. for instance the US based VShoujo hires already existing indie vtubers who had already commisioned art/rigs for their own characters and puts them under one umbrella for cross promotion/health insurance(?)/sponsors/legal etc
in any case one of those hyperneptunia rpgs is all about vtubers and is packed full of them as characters and also like exclusive in game footage similar to what they put out on their channels as in game messages/summons(?). these characters are already corporatized enough to be in mobile and console games and whatnot
a weird situation where you have talent agencies who fully own the visual side of an actor but the person actually doing the work can sort of be reborn as a different cartoon person sometimes
