Not the most exciting choice but glad they’re still keeping up with giving all the DLC characters weird gimmicks. Kind of feel like when they eventually do make Smash 5 and will inevitably have to massively downsize the roster that they will redesign the old classic characters a bunch with similar stuff. Just as an example have Mario be switching between powerups throughout the match or something.

Also, Monster Hunter character deconfirmed through Mii costumes. It’s the same ones that were in Smash 4 which means that the only non-original costume that has yet to be brought over from that game and thus people are still hoping has a chance as a character is:

I couldn’t care less about XC2 reps but I’ve got to admit they’ve got some good alt colours.
Sakurai pointed out this weird animation as part of the move that inspired the final smash. Was it particularly notable or is it just Sakurai sassing the game? (See timestamp)

Nearly forgot about the stream until I saw Sora trending.
thinking about this some more, I’ve decided that for the last character reveal that I want the mii costumes revealed before the actual fighter, preferably as part of the trailer.
Like, I’m imagining Crash Bandicoot, Phoenix Wright, Master Chief, Sora, and like 4 other popularly requested characters vying for the last Smash invite, only for each one to be zapped and transformed into a mii fighter. At the end of the carnage, only one character remains standing: Reimu Hakurei Gex the Gecko from the hot new Switch-exclusive 3D platformer Gex 4 Ever.

Character’s pretty fun although the char screen clearly has TWO clean spots to make a clean quadrilateral (don’t get me started on the THREE needed on stage select!)
