Just for the record: Steam profiles don’t need to be public.
I have a google doc of my favourite games with a half dozen columns of insane notation of things like “what other games on this list directly informed them” which is intelligible only to me
I pretty much wiped out my backlog in the past few years though
god i wish i was this organized, i have a list of favorite games in my head that just lives there and occasionally leaks into forum posts
i want to be a cool unofficial games academic
it’s just an OCD outlet honestly
And while the lineage notation is I guess moderately “academic” in some respect it’s the total opposite of any best practices I’d ever advocate professionally, no one else will ever be able to read this (deliberately), it’s just my own dumb private notes
I have a friend whose one concession to the cultural focus on birthday/Christmas celebrations is that we buy each other games twice a year. It is helpful to be able to just pull up a list and buy from that rather than to try to guess which horrible anime RPG he’s interested in lately that he hasn’t already bought for himself.
If no one ever bought me anything again that’d be great
Speaking of lists… >_>
- SALVATOR
- Beer Ranger
- Aplestia
- Fitzzle Mighty Bears
- D.C. S#*!storm
- Dreams of Dali
- Fenrisulfr Puzzle
- Lock Parsing 2
- SUMOCRATS
- Play Cubes with Uncle Billy
Lock Parsing 2 seems very realistic, I hope that it could teach me how to pick real locks.
Play Cubes with Uncle Billy looks to be a poor Tetris knockoff where every time you make a line instead of just that line fading away every block attached to that line fades away. Also each block appears to be an erotic drawing of Uncle Billy. I probably should have mentioned that part first.
This is a very Classics of Game feeling thing. You have a picture of a bear on the right side split into a 7x7 grid, like so:
And the goal is to make the picture on the right be the inverse of the picture on the left, so if they were to merge then it would be…the whole picture again.
And it’s just bears.
And also the music starts over every time you complete a puzzle, which takes approximately 12 seconds.
Incredible.
Games are truly art.
- Umpire Simulator
- Super Tits Rush
- Xploquest 2
- Solar Battle Glargaz
- Hentai: Exposed
- Legendary Gary (wait, someone else mentioned this, n/m)
- StrikeForce Kitty
- Please Love My Computer Game
Game comes off as kinda needy IMO.
- XL1-ClippingPoint
- Mr.Jezko
- IMPOSSIBLE FIGHTER FROG
- Super Daryl Deluxe
- Parkasaurus
- Gone Fireflies
- OH MY GOD, LOOK AT THIS KNIGHT
- Mystery of Melody Memorial
That reads more like a threat than a sales pitch to me.
Also since that game was rather insistent, here is a pic of that knight.
How do kids draw flash-style art these days? Is it in flash as an animation tool or just thick brushes in Illustrator, or…?
The threat is not wrong, at least from the half hour or so I spent with it
- A Fine Mess
- If you know what I mean
- ALASKA
- Tales of Nebezem: Elemental Link
- Orwell: Ignorance is Strength
- Boo! Greedy Kid
- Haters, kill them all!
- Fei Duanmu VS Kobayashi
- glutton man
I am not sure that this feels like a healthy game. That hanging /list is from the actual store page BTW
Also Dude, Stop got listed again (the new release page is odd as random “coming soon” games will appear several times) and this time I read its description:
There is a lot of insecurity in the list this week.
- Nephise: Ascension
- Armored Animals: H1N1z
- U L T R A _ H A R D C O R E
- Mike Dies
- Dusk Of Confinement
- YUMENIKKI -DREAM DIARY-
- Bloody Skyscraper
- Space Bob vs. The Replicons
- The Necklace of Blood
- All Walls Must Fall - A Tech-Noir Tactics Game
Sure, I’m up for a challenge.
I mean, I guess?
…Oh.
From the game description:
“Nephise was a young orb collector. One day, while searching for orbs, she got lost and fell down a hole into Dragons Valley."
Anyway, this game actually looks pretty alright!
- Blind Boris
- Lots of Balls
- FukTopia
- Enshrouded World: Home Truths
- The Short Story of a Drifting Labyrinth
- Need For Seed: Bird Simulator
I assume they thought the description box could show more characters than it does, but I support there being more player/hovercraft love games.
I also approve of FukTopia’s aesthetic.
I feel like several outlets keep trying to make All Walls Must Fall seem cool (maybe because it was a Kickstarter thing?) but it just seems crap
- Beyond the Invisible: Darkness Came
- Mulaka
- Baobabs Mausoleum Ep.2: 1313 Barnabas Dead End Drive
- Tombo Breaker VR
- Hellmut: The Badass from Hell
- Vinnie’s Diary
- Army of Squirrels
- The Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth
- Bygone Worlds: Drama at the Odeion
- Derrek Quest VII
- Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse
Time for another game description battle~
Spongebob Peaks Awakening Island is a hell of a pitch, but I wanna know how one makes a VR game about performing on stage. BW:DatO wins!
For a moment i thought someone had picked up the Mutant Camel baton. Don’t look, the llama’s are the enemy, it’s very depressing.
- Despotism 3k
- Where the Water Tastes Like Wine
- Puppies vs Undead
- Hinterhalt
- Muv-Luv Alternative
- Haste Heist
- Dragons Never Cry
- WannaMine
- While I Sleep I am Debug
- KNACK!
Despotism sounds better than I had imagined.
Let me check the store page description for While I Sleep I am Debug…

…fair enough.
Also! There is apparently a surprise PC version of Knack! I wonder how that is even a thing…
Man, these PC ports just get further and further scaled back. I mean, if this is what it takes to guarantee 60 FPS then so be it but still…
