It is a) the best of all worlds and b) that sweet spot where you’ve endured being criticized for gen x’s laziness and apathy and millennial self-absorption and un-productivity and c) the other sweet spot where you get why Kevin Smith’s movies felt exciting and necessary when they happened but are really pretty embarrassing now.
yeah like I tend to think of these as gen X traits:
- wouldn’t necessarily rather be good and correct than interesting; not compelled to explain away liking anything which is technically bad or harmful in some way
- regard the state of the world as something to be worked around rather than remade
- less alienated by postwar culture generally than by, say, twitch
- I like boring dude guitar music
but other than that I am pretty bog-standard millennial

Yeah, shit, this is me as hell.
I think redefining Boomer as Anyone Older Than The Babies is very much showing the limited utility of criticizing people based on their age alone.
