Onimusha is fantastic. It is just a breezy beautiful video game. It’s way weirder than you expect. Then it is over in 4 hours. I’ve played through it about 5 times.
Wow. Such praise. Never could have expected this. I will keep going then!
I’m watching the Xenogears Music Special Live Stream on SE’s music youtube channel right now and it got me wondering: are any of the Xenoblade Chronicles games as dank as Xenogears, or even as ambitiously ludicrous as Xenosaga? I feel like the only thing I ever see and hear about those games are about Hot Anime Women and only recently realized I have no idea what they’re actually like (other than Xenoblade Chronicles X which I only saw people talk about it being open world and having giant robots (I bought the collector’s edition for Wii U and never played it, and the USB stick did not fit in my PS4 due to it’s oversized chassis)).
SB, I can only play one of these, which one ?
- King’s Field II J
- Shadow Tower
that’s rough. KF2J is one of, i think, the best games for someone to play from that era. it’s very bold and interesting and funny and creepy. you’ll almost certainly like it.
however, Shadow Tower has, at various points, been my #1 game of all time. it’s like a combination dungeon crawler + survival horror thing. recommend you play it with headphones in the dark. that said, it’s a lot more divisive than KF2J. it’s also got a relatively steep initial period, but you like SaGa so i don’t think you’ll mind necessarily haha
When 7zip says “warning there is some data at the end of the payload” what does that mean?
in my experience, nothing of consequence. you can usually just close the window at that point and your thing will have extraxted fine.
yeah, it doesn’t mean anything bad, it just means that there are bytes that 7zip doesn’t recognize as being part of the archive
I went with Shadow Tower since they were tied and Meauxdal’s post was a nice tiebreaker, but since then King’s Field 2 won. Oops
Anyway, what a game
As someone that played it in January feel free to PM me for vague clues!
Didn’t you play through Kf2? Having gone through the first few hours of ST, I sticked with it.
My only question re: ST right now is Do these acid filled labyrinths ever end, god. The game started difficult then each domain has been somehow worse than the last one. The FromSoft poison swamps are even worse than usual because resources are scarce and limited. Great game.
Is there a new home to romhacks?
Are there any Arvo Pärt heads who can identify the song used in this? Starts around 3mins. While it says 1971 the audio is totally new to the recent remaster so could really be from any time. Shazam is picking up all kinds of wrong bullshit.
I’m seeing more websites that throw up an error screen because I don’t allow them to save data locally. Is there a plugin that can fake the saving of local data to keep them accessible?
oh wow, this place’s built-in rom patcher is incredibly convenient
New hacks are showing up on romhacking.net though. Is there something else wrong with it that’s making people are avoid it now or something?
It’s his setting of the Robert Burns poem “My Heart’s in the Highlands”. Not sure who the performer is, I haven’t heard it before.
I don’t recognize it, but I can at least say some things about it that might help. The singing style is one commonly used for actual “early music” (like Medieval or early Renaissance) and the tone of the organ accompaniment isn’t out-of-place in that regard either. However, I can understand your comparison to Arvo Pärt—in some ways it sounds more “minimalist” to me than most of the music I’ve heard from that time period, to the extent I could believe it’s actually a contemporary composition. Is there any chance it was composed specifically for the film?
EDIT: Oh, I didn’t see scratchmonkey’s response. Ah, I guess we answered at the same time.
