was there a real life hl2 shooting gallery or laser tag thing or anything remotely like that or did i just dream it. it seems increasingly implausible
Given that laser tag arenas are decorated completely by copyright infringement it wouldnât surprise me if you saw pics of a place that painted a vortigaunt on the wall or whatever
Maybe youâre remembering Taitoâs Half-Life 2 arcade shooter
I misrembered it as a lightgun rail shooter, but the wiki says players controlled movement with 2 joysticks and 2 pedals, as though the HEV suit was a mech
whatâs the deal with the the game series series
are they original works? repackaged doujin games? budget rereleases of commercial games? shareware compilations?
most importantly: are they something worth looking further into?
I googled the one with the least generic title, #37, Pipiru the Archer First Half. Itâs an indie/doujin shareware game from 2002 originally distributed over the web, archived homepage: NOAH Homepage. #38 is Pipiru the Archer Second Half, presumably its non-shareware continuation, originally sold directly by the author for 1000 yen.
The original shareware download link hasnât been archived unfortunately, so Iâm not sure how to try it aside from buying that CD.
You didnât link the original tweet they were bargain bin game CDs sold at Daiso.
when i auto-translated the original tweet, it only said something like âearly daiso game seriesâ, and then when i searched âdaiso game seriesâ, all the results were just called âthe game seriesâ, so i assumed âdaisoâ was a mistranslation artifact or something
had totally forgotten there were some real mush pc games i got from dollar stores when i was a kid, i wonder what the economics of that were. i assume theyâre buying like unmoved stock from kmart or hwatever but even then some of those games seemed more like the public domain dvds where they seemd 2 exist to be dollar store games.
Yeah, the core bargain-bin offering was overproduced commercial titles. But the genre diversity of those mustâve been very uneven. You can see how this Daiso series would have filled the gaps in the shelves with an RPG, action game, racing game, game for girls etc
to further highlight my foolishness, thereâs an official list in english
The follow up tweet was âRemember when Daiso used to sell porn?â
And I went ââŚoh yeah it did.â
i saw a post somewhere the other day that the olympics stopped all the convenience stores and supermarkets selling porn and they never went back. is that accurate?
That was me and yes.
The Olympics is like a sex vortex, sucking up all the porn until the streets are clean, while the athletes in the village are getting so busy it causes nationwide condom shortages
imagine if you had to make those games just from the titles
or
this reads like a list of prompts from a long running game jam
People somewhere already had to make those games just from the titles
I just got a new Xbox Elite Series 2 controller and it seems to have a fucked up right analog stick. When I circle the stick all around the edge of its well, itâs mostly smooth, but it sort of catches in the lower right of the well. Basically, if I rotate the stick in a full circle, during part of the rotation it hits a rough patch where it feels like plastic is grinding on plastic.
Anyone ever see something like this before and have an idea what it is? I guess Iâm probably gonna have to send it back to Microsoft for a repair/replacement. What a hassle.
the Elite 2 build quality is really poor! the design and materials are great but it just does not come together in the final product. they are like Italian cars
Damn⌠Aside from that issue itâs a beautiful controller. Iâve seen horror stories online of people going through four replacements until they get a good one. Hopefully that doesnât happen to me.
never forget that elite is a scam
