Put me in coach
Ditto.
Hi I am gonna drive myself crazy again. I am trying to find a 90s/2000 movie that At Least the Japanese DVD is identical to the aesthetic of Killer 7. It might be Swedish? God I am gonna spend 3 hours looking through my photos trying to track this down.
series 7: the contenders, maybe?
Fuck that did take 4 hours. I couldnât find my picture but I just had to think extremely hard till that it had Number in the Japanese name came to me.
After as I was cleaning up my tabs I saw I was staring right at it on Wikipedia Crime Movies Year 2000. So I would have found it when I went back to that tab that I clearly moved away because I remembered ăăłăăź
Anyways ordered a copy so I can actually watch this stupid movie.
Inspired by a conversation with @daphaknee
I havenât thought about this movie in forever. This was doing the murder reality show thing while the first season of survivor was still airing.
The Quatermass guy did this in the 60s
Nigel Kneale is the weird horror movie GOAT. I watched that movie and it was OK. Definitely super ahead of its time. The real shit is The Stone Tape and Quatermass and the Pit.
I actually got assigned to watch Series 7: The Contenders for the best and most personally influential college course I ever took, Documentary, Mock Documentary, and Reality Television. Cool movie.
Quatermass and the pit has the best library music downer ending
In the hypothetical 1998 does Klonoa have too much âMagicâ for a Weird Christian Family?
my gut says no because itâs a side-scroller starring funny animals. anecdotally, if weird christian kids were allowed video games at all they were allowed the likes of chrono trigger. wait, no, there was one that i think wasnât allowed chrono trigger, but he had earthbound. another had illusion of gaia but i donât think anyone in his family knew what gaia meant (he suggested we name locke âgaiaâ when i showed him ff6). all far more occult-looking than klonoa to a parent glancing at the screen while moving through the living room
past 1998 but when i worked at gamestop and a christian family came in i was told by management to always ALWAYS recommend them kingdom hearts
yes that fits the vibe precisely
burned memory unearthed: âgodlimationsâ edgy christian kid flash games
there was an article somewhere a few years ago theorising that the popularity of sonic among christian kids is because it has action and adventure and some mildly edgy anti-heroes, but to the casual observance of a parent, looks like old-timey funny animals but with brighter colours.
kingdom hearts/sonic is the exact combo I would imagine of a homeschooled kid with evangelical parents
I think the gamestop that I worked at back in like 2004 must not have cared at all about demographics because I donât remember having to think about what Iâd recommend to a Christian family at all
we mostly just sold game informer subscriptions and Halo 2
I definitely cashed in a lot of unclaimed pre-orders so IIIII could get halo 2, which I returned for kotor2
I remember the Jehovahâs Witness kid I knew when I was around 8 wasnât allowed to play Ghostbusters, Alex Kidd or Pacman because ghosts are evil, but he was allowed to Paperboy despite the grim reaper appearance because âthatâs not a ghost, thatâs a Deathâ
Sonic walks on water and parts the sea simultaneously.
In Sonic Heroes, heâs even part of a Holy Trinity.
