So I did indeed watch Gangster Number One with the cover that Suda clearly rippedoff for Killer7.
It was mostly a period piece in 1968 and went it gets back to 1999 you’re like “1999 sucks.”
Paul Betany plays a sociopath young Malcom Macdonald who is closeted gay in love with his gangster boss. There are lots of him being very very gay for his boss and a complete unlikable sociopath the rest of the time. I can’t tell if the movie knows he’s gay. There is also a line about men drinking wine was gay and I had never heard that one.
There are a few points where it is extremely weird and that was cool. And hey it’s the hotel from Killer 7!
Anyways Malcom and Paul’s character is extremely unlikable and unsympathetic and I spent the back half in apprehension of what horrible murder he’d inflict on others. He’s just so upset he couldn’t be gay he had to kill and torture.
Anyways I don’t recommend it but this and I Come With The Rain closed some circles in my brain.
